Who has what pick and what determines a time slot?

Is it complex or easy to figure out.

Serious inquiry.

There's a picking order among the networks.

Networks hold most of the say I would imagine. Conference and school maybe a little input but I doubt very much if any.

CBS gets first choice. ESPN decides where the rest of the games go.

Except for the two weekends that CBS has a doubleheader. I believe for that one it is CBS 1, ESPN 2, CBS 3, ESPN the rest

CBS 2:30
ESPN prime time
ESPN 11am

Mix between SEC Network, ESPN for other 11AM, 3PM, 6PM, etc spots

A few weeks where CBS will have 2 picks, but it’s been a good transition year to going full ESPN/ABC next year

This will change next year.

Which is good because now all the good teams will get night games. This is why when we are really really good we never got night games because we would get the 2:30 slot.

But seriously with NIL funds available can’t players have more say in when they want their NIL to be used? As in, couldn’t the players be able to say “we want all home games in tiger stadium to be played at night”. I mean with more folks streaming, does it even matter when the games times are? Can somebody call Gordon? Does he read this board?

NIL money is pennies compared to Network money. CBS, ESPN, etc., pay the bills, so they decide the schedule.

Don’t be shocked when ESPN puts the 2nd best game at 11am next year

Let the Big 10 play the day games, SEC can be the night games.

I think you're right. Fox puts their big game at 11:00, and ESPN isn't going to let Fox win that time slot by default. They will want something besides Vandy-Kentucky following Gameday. Maybe the 3rd best SEC game, with the top two at 2:30 and 6:00?

NIL money isn’t even in the same stratosphere as television network money. Bless your heart.

Not complex at all. It's determined by order of importance/relevance. How many eyes will be watching doing a certain time slot. Moving forward it will be a battle between how many eyes will be watching SEC or B10 doing the 11am games. So next year, ESPN will have to step up their game to compete with Fox on that 11am slot.

Do NFL players get to choose when their games are played?

What happens when there are only 5 SEC games on a given weekend such as Oct 21st.

Does the SEC guarantee ESPN and the SEC Network an 11:00 game?

I imagine that whatever "control" the conference has is whatever they negotiated up front. For example, there used to be a limit to how many shite 11am starts they could force on a home team each year. Don't know if those kinds of limits still exist.
