That's a pretty big assumption to make while zero proof of why miles is mad. He may be mad because isn't going to class, who knows.

I can't remember his comments on that situation verbatim, but Miles being mad at Mett had something to do with Mett's improvement/attitude (or lack thereof)

He also made the point that with LSU's rep they could get committments from the top national recruits if they wanted but come MLB draft day they would all be gone. It is a tricky thing recruiting baseball talent.

Miles mad at Mett for getting caught hanging or with Lyles in da club!

I kid.

It's obvious. We live or die by the senior qb's in 11. Miles is taking heat on himself, and trying to keep the pressure off
of Jj and Jlee

A time-honored Les Miles tradition: dog out the new players in your program, and feed the hype(erbole) machine for your starter that you've never laid a fricking glove on in the media.

Dogged out Garrett (ultimatley with good reason, it seems, as the kid wouldn't stay fit), and now he's airing Mett's laundry.

I don't get lauding one kid by denigrating another. If you don't have something nice to say about a player, then say nothing at all.

I mean, positigers the world over get offended if you mention ONE thing about Miles. But, if he speaks frankly about a player, they'll take it as gospel.

This kinda thing p!sses me off. Where's the frank and honest admissions about JJ?

Who knows. This is the last year of the bullshite though (or so we hope)

how do we know it wasn't something like mett started acting like a puss when he realized the open co
petition wasn't open? It could have been something else.

Who knows. I think it deserves attention though, unfortunately all we can do is speculate.

When it comes to Mettenberger, I will give Mile the benefit of the doubt. He's been kicked out of one school already.

I was skeptical about him in the first place.

Motivation for the kid to get his arse in gear.

Mett is not in trouble. Miles did make a point to say that just because he's mad at him now does not mean that he will hold a grudge against him or anything like that...just as long as Mett is working hard to improve.

I'm gonna defend GFunk here...mostly because we're from the same hometown...but nonetheless, he's not wanting validation of his own feelings (I don't think)...I think he's wanting validation of what everyone has seen (except Miles apparently)FROM MILES.

Miles is the guy that pulled the trigger on the offer. Miles is also the guy who recruited and/or signed off on:

Jarrett Lee
Ryan Perrilloux
Andrew Hatch
Chris Garrett
Russell Shepard
Jordan Jefferson

Exactly TWO of which have made it to and/or past their sophomore years at QB at LSU.

You go ahead and give Les Miles the benefit of the doubt when it comes to QB's. I'll remain a wait-and-see type.

Crowton had a policy of no qb recruiting unless he personally approved it. Wouldn't the blame be shared?

He did make the QB depth chart very clear though...

1. Miles' Son
2. JLee
3. Mett

Figured that

Mett is 3rd string in 2011

And we all know that Miles was the only coach recruiting these players. Besides, RP and CG are really the only two that Mikes whiffed on. Hatch was damage control. JJ and JLee are still here and RS was really only a legit qb option in the eyes of the rantards.

"open competition"

It was never open, and I think most fans knew it.

The odd thing about it all, was that he was most complimentary of JLee and Rivers.

Kept saying JLee was a "stud" and Rivers can make plays with his feet that a 6'7'' guy usually can't make.

Sounds like he is doing his best to keep a QB controversy away from the team and hopefully out of the media

I dont think people really understand... if you would have watched spring practice there really wasn't a Qb competition at all... Met was not ready.. we will see what happens in the fall

I don't mind blaming Crowton. For that and more, he was held accountable by surrendering his job here.

That's not going to happen to Miles, but to act as if he's getting a benefit of the doubt? No, sorry. Not from me.

The real shocker IMO was his comment about Beckham might wind up being the better WR between him and Jarvis Landry.

Which goes against the thought that Miles will trash all others to defend JJ. Not a JJ apologist cause he certainly hasn't lit the world on fire, just saying some consistency wouldn't be misplaced.
