think we tend to pick up accents rather quickly- when I moved up the Midwest years ago I was suddenly sounded like I was from SD.

Yeah, my voice changes depending on who I talk to throughout the day.

Yeah, I think you are. Kelly is a BOSS, and he was putting everyone else on notice.

As you can see, "everyone else" didn't like that too much.

I agree, I also think even if a southern accent came out, honestly spending time around people with accents just affects your brain sometimes and you do that shite, when I visit home in LA and am around my more southern family I always have more of my old southern accent for a bit when I come home

National media care about the big brands that drive viewer/listenership nationally- Notre Dame, USC, Ohio State, Alabama to name a few.
Hence, the audacity to leave one of the darlings in ND. Conversely, USC could do no wrong w/ Riley-despite leaving in a more shady manner.

People acting like he was out there sounding like Shelby Foote or Foghorn Leghorn. Did he sound like a yankee trying to sound southern? Perhaps. But it wasn't as over the top as people are making it. I'll start worrying if next year he's talking like Robert De Niro in Cape Fear.

And it's natural for people to start sounding like the people around them. Madonna married Guy Ritchie and within moments she had a British accent. Hell I just binged Ted Lasso and the watched The Beatles: Get Back and I've found myself saying odd British things like "I'll sort that out in a bit."

I’ll be honest I was at the game and didn’t notice an accent or anything unusual. I do a lot of presentations and I always appreciate someone having to do this in front of a large crowd. My groups are usually 30-50, some in excess of 200.
I always try to pick up little tidbits or quotes. Especially body language

As long as he doesn’t threaten to kill someone and hide their body in a bayou I’m fine with it

The southern drawl takes make it easy to identify people who have never met someone from Massachusetts.

Mine does too, however, it's more so turning up or down my southern drawl based on my audience
