no "challenging" games yet.
Remember last year?

They lost to Coastal Carolina.

The year before they lost to Nicholls State.

1. Beat the teams on the current level schedule.
2. Make it to the NCAA's.
3. THEN schedule a run in the Alaska shootout or Hawaii or PR, where you will run into some non-BCS teams that are in the NCAA's regularly.

THEN, if all goes well, schedule an upgrade.

So far the only team for sure on our schedule is Seton Hall at home.

Not sure on how bball scheduling goes, but i dont think the coaches do the scheduling. Just something to note. Now he could prob make a rquest to play a harder shcedule, but i dont think it really is that simple.

Sorry about the JJ thing. CJJ should schedule more challenging games. It's not like football in which your team is broken up by the end of the season due to playing top rank teams.

Here are my reasons:
1. I believe it puts butts in the seats.
2. LSU will have more nationally televised games.
3. It is attractive to the recruits to play nationally ranked teams.
4. Prepares us for conference foes. Playing Nicholls State and Coastal Carolina does nothing to prepare us.

Who does the scheduling? The head coach? That is my question to you.

College basketball coaches often compare assembling a schedule to putting together a jigsaw puzzle ? but there's one major problem with that premise.

Putting together the final pieces of a jigsaw puzzle is the easiest part of the process. Arranging the last games of a college basketball schedule requires almost as much patience and foresight as recruiting a five-star prospect.

Good link on bball scheduling, HC doesnt necessarily do the scheduling.

I remember when Dale Brown would schedule top ranked teams from across the nation. Duke, Michigan, etc.

My thoughts exactly. He will not be able to recruit anybody worth a crap if he does not upgrade the schedule. I am a UK fan but I always liked to see quality ball at the PMAC. Been a long time since there has been a meaningful non-conference opponent at home.
