Why did we not Defend the 3 point shot?
We simply can’t defend the perimeter because our defenders are too slow. It’s a talent problem. They are offensively skilled, just not quick. It’s very easy for quick teams like bama to drive and dish. We are simply not quick enough to stay in front of a quick ball handler. We compensate for lack of quickness by playing zone but that does not work against teams that shoot the 3 well. Bottom line, this team is slow. Lead feet.

It is very relevant actually.
We sucked arse today. Statistics tell me that we win 7 out of 10 games in the Wade era so continue to be upset when I tell you he and the team will come back and play well.

It’s not just the 3 pt line. Coach Oats said post game what everyone that watches LSU should already know. If you drive to the basket Lsu collapses all 5 players to the paint . That leaves the perimeter open . Lsu has done this since Wade has been coach. I think his zone defense is fine but every player that takes two dribbles toward the basket doesn’t need to be doubled while leaving their man open. Something needs to change in philosophy before anything is going to change in the games.

Tonight was a matchup problem. We matchup terrible with bama. It’s not a WW problem. It’s a talent issue. Need faster guys.

I’m not upset. You’re clearly upset at the mere mention of wanting to hold Wade accountable for this shite performance as evidenced by you melting in every thread that’s critical of him.
If you worked for me and said it didn’t matter because I’ve done well before after you screwed up, and didn’t accept constructive criticism to form a plan to get better, I would fricking fire you for complacency. Your mindset is a cancer and needs to never be around LSU in anyway.
The goal is to always be evaluating and getting better. Not strutting around like a jackass bragging about what you used to do.

Well I don't work for you you white trash bitch.
There is a fine line with holding accountable and retarded over evaluation.
No one is saying criticism and growth isn't positive. The past shows you what someone can be capable of. In other words, Wade will improve because he always strives to improve as a coach.

You’re right. I don’t hire racists with an inferiority complex
Ok. You want to move on and hope things change because, well he’s been good before!
You’re not very bright.

Look forward to your analysis the rest of the basketball season. I'm sure it will continue to be superb

Ironic from you tough guy.
Very ironic.
Name me 1 coach in LSU history that has a better coach than Wade since 1923.
Name me 1 coach in SEC history that has turned a 2-16 record or worse to a 16-2 record or better in 23 months.
Name me 1 LSU coach since 2005 with top 2 finishes in the SEC in 2 straight years
This is the issue, you are comparing Wade to a low ceiling(LSU coaches). Forget the LSU coaches match him up against the championship coaches. That is where we want to go. To strive to be the best measure against the best.

Short of Gaines and Cook. This is not a quick team. Bama was so much quicker at every position. They are a bad matchup for us and most everyone they will play. If their shots are falling at a 40% clip you can’t beat them.

Just that he's not so great to be above criticism
This. Some guys here have their heads so far up Wade's rear end its pathetic.
No one wants Wade fired, or it they do they are a moron. Alabama may have beaten anyone in the country last night but that was a sorry counter punch LSU tried to lay. That's coaching. Oats coached Wade's rear end off last night. Did our Boy Genius ever think about getting out of that zone in the first half? LSU was out played, out hustled, out everything.

I’m sorry but you’re generally not beating anyone if they are shooting 80 percent from 3. There is a reason NBA finals are best of 7. In that format teams often get blown out in a game or two but still win the series.

Technically speaking, why is this hard to do?? Just stick to your man and get in his face. Geez!
1) many of the 3s were contested with a man in their face
2) on-ball defense is not great, and if you get beat, another teammate sags in and leaves his man open...drive and kick for open 3, Wade should have been telling them to not help, but it goes against your natural instinct as as a basketball player
3) slow on rotation in zone, which again, if often due to poor on-ball defense
4) when a team if as hot as Bama was last night, you tend to play them a little too tight, which then leads to them being able to beat you easier off the dribble

dude...what does his dick look like?

How many teams will make 23 three pointers in a game? It’s not a high percentage shot. LSU just ran into a buzz saw
Posted on 1/20/21 at 3:28 pm to Teague
My problem is, when they penetrate to the weak side, LSU commits too early with help. Also, the on ball defender needs to redirect his man ( overplay ) him to penetrate to the strong side of your defense where you can have rotations instead of giving up 3’s left and right from the weak side because there is no one to rotate and it’s too late to close once you commit to help on penetration.
Posted on 1/20/21 at 5:24 pm to TigerFan244
Because you don't think that half court is three point territory.

Maybe our shitty defense enabled them to make so many 3s.
