I’m loving all the “struck out the side” posts. The first “strikeout” was because of 3 fouled bunts and the following 2 were anything but dominant.
ETA: And the 3rd bunt “strike” was an inch away from being so perfect that it would have resulted in 1st and 3rd with no one out.

It makes me think he's going off the box score and didn't actually watch the game.

There’s nothing to discuss. You’re an idiot and your coaching hindsight is fricking retarded
We would all be 936384926-0 as coaches if we could coach yesterday’s game today

I was surprised to hear Johnson say post-game that he already had his pitching set up BEFORE the game.
So you are upset that our coach had a gameplan before the game started????
quote:
I can understand obviously the starter but the way he handled the 9th is still utterly ridiculous.
Having the best pitcher on your team set up in the 9th to get you 3 outs... This is ridiculous???
quote:
So yeah, to predetermine the change of pitchers in the 9th for 0 reason at all for this game was stupid! Sorry, it was and that isn't hindsight at all.
Im pretty sure this is the exact definition of hindsight

Psst, calling someone retarded is not exactly making you look like Einsteins.
How about “bitch?”

It's like he was in coma during game 3 of the CWS finals last year when Skenes was getting ready for a good 4-5 innings for the exact situation that presented itself last night.
Had we able to muster ANY insurance runs after the 3rd inning, maybe Jay's hand wouldn't have been forced to make the call he did. But if you're up 1 run with 3 outs to advance and your best arm is ready to go, every coach in America is playing those odds every time

Hope your wife and boss hold you to the same hindsight perfection.
Yeah it likely wasn’t the right call but that happens.
Bigger issue was not building on our lead.

That’s LAST YEAR. Orgeron won a N.C. too but he was fired two years later.

I listen to nearly every Jay Johnson postgame press conference. He ain’t Orgeron
And I can damn sure guarantee you he will stay on the recruiting trail instead of hanging out at the beach condos chasing tail all summer

If you have ever listened to Jay talk and watch how hard he works, it should be apparent to anyone with any common sense that comparing him to Orgeron is fricking retarded.

So are you predicting that JJ gets fired next season?

NotaStarGazer is the epitome of the "casual" baseball fan that comes to the Rant to bash a "coach" after a tough loss. The idea that CJJ did not think through that decision is absolutely absurd - he is probably the most prepared coach LSU has.

Ok.
-Won a National Title
-This year he lost in the final game of regional final in extras to the #4 national seed after losing 2 generational talents along with several other solid starters from last years team.
-Was he perfect, no, but he did what he felt gave us the best chance to win. I as a fan am not qualified to question those decisions especially after I know the results.
-Comparative to football/basketball.....ok.....its like we still made the playoffs in football and the sweet 16 in basketball in a year after losing tons of talent.....I can live with that.
-He also is really solid in the transfer portal so far and seems to recruit HS well also.
-Overall....great job coach.....keep up the good work.

were you in a coma last June? The dude already has a National Championship Ring and he's been on campus for 3 seasons.
Pump the breaks. The program is headed in the right direction. Drink some bourbon and take a deep breath.

I like Ack, but if in the moment Jump said he was good to go against the bottom of the order I would have made the switch too.
