Prayers sent to the family & close friends of the legend, Hokie Gajun. I loved him as a player and he was one of the most entertaining color analysts in broadcasting. My all time favorite quote on an interview with Dan Patrick:

"Its's like falling in a barrel of women's breast and you come out sucking your thumb"

We'll miss you Hokie!

Godspeed Hokie.

I don't remember the game, but Hokie commented on live TV that one of the Saint's safeties (I don't remember who), that just got burned, "Had his head up his arse."

That's why Hokie was so well loved. He was one of us.

RIP to one of my favorite Tigers. Along with Dalton Hilliard and Eric Martin, he was a rare example of a Louisiana kid, who played for LSU and then his hometown NFL team. Not a particularly gifted athlete (relatively speaking) he was known as a hard worker and fierce competitor.

Way too young at 56.

This hits home too close. Same age...entered LSU same year. As a college student, Hokie was my and many others favorite player. Admired for his toughness, never say die attitude, authenticity, Cajun humor...just everything about Hokie was REAL. God, we already miss him. Sad just real sad.

Hokie was a hoss at LSU. The play that sticks out to me is the long gainer against Alabama back in '79 in the rain in Tiger Stadium. Almost took it the distance in tough 3 - 0 loss.

He was just coming into his own with the Saints when he tore up his knee on goal line plunge. He had a nose for the end zone. Injury kept us from seeing just how good he could have been.

I'll always remember Hokie as a leader and player who never quit.

He will prove a good addition to Saints team in Heaven. Good life Hokie. Good job. Peace to your family.
