After playing baseball in high school I understand the catch up hitters have early in the year. It is apparent however that we are clearly at a disadvantage to many other teams I have watched play (ole miss, arkansas, LA Tech etc). How long will it take for a change in the coaching staff. We recruit at a high level, but our hitting in the past few years has been mediocre at best. This isn’t a melt for just this year, but for the past few.

Our hitting coach hasn’t been here for a full season yet

Just tired of ground balls and pop-outs.

thanks for the insight. You’re the only one here who played in high school and your experience is very valuable.

He’s been here for over a year working with these guys.

Not defending hitting in any way, just going to give new coach time to get the kinks worked out
If nothing has changed in 3-4 weeks then he needs to figure out a way to bring someone in that can do a better job

It’s a ringing endorsement of him when the only hitters anyone mentioned before the season are freshmen.

My bad, I didn’t realize they were still allowed to practice once the season was shut down

I know tech is senior heavy just hard to watch teams consistently barrel the ball up and we can’t. Hopefully our young guys can catch up for SEC ball. Don’t mean to melt.

Has he though?

When were they allowed to resume working with the players?

As far as I know once they shut the season down he wasn’t allowed to coach them until fall ball started.

I mean, he’s not going anywhere unless he gets fired. His wife works for TAF.

I’m thinking the entire staff will be let go at some point. I doubt his wife working for TAF really means shite to Woodward
