If he gains some velocity he will be unhittable when on. His 86 fastball already looks 90 because of offspeed.

I love this kid, he has nasty pitches but even better he has ice water running through his veins. Composure is incredible

He threw one 82 last week on the inside black that looked 100, felt bad for the batter who just looked at it.

i agree but he seems to have better command of his breaking ball. Similar command of their fast balls and similar stuff.

I agree he’s a stud... just needs to grow into his arm, get that velocity up, and develop a third consistent out-pitch. He’s definitely special... higher ceiling and better raw stuff than Poche. He’s gonna be a nightmare for opposing teams with a year under his belt. I’m PSYCHED to see a Walker/ Hilliard one-two punch on fri and sat.!!!!

Lord have mercy...our fans love to overreact.

He’s very very good thru half the season in his freshman year. Let’s celebrate that

Kid has made big time strides. Watched him a couple times in HS and never thought he would have the impact at LSU he’s had.

Poche came up big in big time situations throughout his career, most notably coming in against Rice on 3 days rest to throw 6 innings of 1 hit shutout baseball to help us clinch the regional.

I love Hilliard but I really hope he isn’t the closest thing we get to Nola in the next couple of years.

Long shot. Walker has to return to form - please God, grant him 3 mph extra from Tommy John. Also, I’d like to see someone throwing heat on Friday. Plus Labas will figure in.

Those are some strong words, especially for a freshman who's only through half of conference play. Of course every pitcher will have his bad outings, but Jared Poche was a bulldog on the mound.

Indeed he was. And Maineri will tell you he was one of the best he’s ever coached.

Igniot is being a dick. Citing the CWS when Poche had the yips and couldn’t get it to first.

Time will tell. But in terms of wins, Jared > Scott Shultz at LSU.
