Usually the ones talking the loudest and making the most noise are the ones lacking substance or feel like they have to make up with verbage for some lacking quality...... which in this case is not being good enough to beat LSU the first time. See,, Bama players and fans have to do all this talking, its the only thing they can do to try and stay the same stage as LSU. LSU doesnt have to speak one word, our whole season speaks for itself.... most of all, the win over Bama in its back yard!!

Yeah Trent tried to come off humble on the Heisman show, but he said "I'm just hear to try bring home another trophy"...when asked what his kids probably think about him being in NY.

something to that effect...

Bottom line, he feels he deserves it... That's not really humility in my book

What's wrong with players wanting to be the best? The notion that a player has to act like he doesn't want to be great is ridiculous.

Is TM7 lacking in quality? He's pretty verbal.

Both Barron and Hightower looked miserable at the awards. Sort of like Saban did!

LINK?

Not that I think you're capable of misinterpretation of statements you thought you heard/saw on "CBS news", but it would be such an abjectly stupid thing for those two players to say that until you link it, it is not believable.

End result of this thread though is either Hightower and Barron or the OP appearing incredibly dumb.
My bet is on the OP.

they didn't deserve any awards, their team won nothing this year, NOTHING

So now we have to base the best player awards on team achievement? And i'm not saying Hightower and Barron were the best at their positions, they obviously weren't but if you base it on team achievement then PP7 didn't deserve the Thorpe and Bednarik awards last season. I'm sure you don't believe that is the case.

Not a criterion. See RGIII.

However TM7's stats are surprisingly more impressive than DH30 when compared side-by-side. Barron is not in DH30's league, much less TM7's. That is why they didn't deserve awards. I'm sure they both understand that. Certain fans apparently don't.

Why does Trent feel disrespected? He won the Doak Walker award. The Heisman is always a crap shoot anyway and always favors the top QBs. Are they just trying to motivate themselves? Is playing for a national championship not enough motivation for them?

I would think that they can't wait because,....uh,.....the game is for the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

It's not a 'written' criterion, but voters do consider that, in this case, in their biggest game against LSU, they did not put up impressive stats. That's why they aren't being considered.

I think Bama is a very overhyped program and even many others not from the Southeast who are not primarily SEC fans think so as well. Many are tired of hearing about how great Bama & Nick Saban are. I personally am tired of hearing the ESPN "Know-it-alls" say things like Bama outplayed LSU the first time and should have won and they'll make up for it next month, and a few claim Saban even outcoached Miles. I don't believe they were watching the same game the nation saw on Nov. 5.

Curious, did you see the interview?
Just wondering if you're going by folks statements here or if you actually heard it yourself. I didn't.

Personally, I've never seen TR saying anything remotely similar. I actually hope he did say it. It would be dumber than dirt, and would be more perspective setting fodder for LSU.
But I'm guessing he's getting misquoted.
