Highly Confident using Backup Players with Kiffin & Coaching Staff!

With Injuries forcing "Next Man Up"......I've never felt this confident that our backups will "Up their Games" to Fully Embrace the Opportunity + Challenge!
Kiffin has been ingenious @ how he has addressed the injury predicament the team has been dealt. As Head Coach, Kiffin is once again "10 steps ahead" by accepting and proactively dealing with the unfortunate reality of losing key players.
Lane is truly exceptional leader, motivator & communicator in how he deals with the challenge (opportunity). By admitting, accepting that "It is what it is".......he explains how they will overcome the setback by simply/directly expecting himself, his staff & players to now "Rise to the Occassion". To do your Job!
Kiffin is very effective at communicating his full confidence/trust in each & every coach/staff, player & team the need to now "Up their Game" by individually performing, delivering, executing @ the needed, required level to continue WINNING! That it can, will be done by each person simply performing/executing their individual job/role "one play at a time"!
With Kiffin @ the helm......I've every felt more confident that our backups, with the entire team's/coache's support can & will "rise to the occassion". Hell, I would'nt be surprised if our backups perform even better than those they replaced!

Cauble just said he fully expects Leavitt to sit this weekend

Hopefully, all the talented backups will embrace and make the most of their opportunities to show up and stand out! Sitting on the bench will not make them shine in the eyes of the NFL. It’s an opportunity for them to display their talents, and I sure hope they all take full advantage of it!

That would mean Kiffin and company are bad at talent evaluation which would not warrant your trust in them.

It’s good to have faith in the coaching staff to make adjustments with whoever they’ve got out there, but I never look forward to seeing what the backups can do in anything but garbage time.

Against McNeese?
Yes, very confident!
Against the rest of the SEC? Not exactly.
Losing someone like Weeks hurts.
I’m sure keys will be good, but there is a reason Whit was 1st string and not keys.
The same can be said for Green, or any other position, there is a reason why those guys were starters.
Best case scenario you don’t see a large drop off in production, but you are definitely thinner as a team. Depth matters when you get to November and guys are banged up, and LSU has their hardest games.

I see your point, but I think you missed mine. Or, you're just being a smart arse.
What was clearly conveyed is that I think certain backups might "rise to the occasion/opportunity" to perhaps play above their potential. They might be inspired to "dig deep" for the team and even the injured player they're replacing to produce exceptional performances.
I trust and believe that Kiffin knows how to evaluate players. But if "superior talented player" always outperformed an athlete with lesser talent/ability..... then the outcome of competition would be certain - and their would never be upsets! But we see them all the time, in individual one on one competition (tennis) or team sports where far higher skill, ability & ranked opponents are beaten by an inspired player or team!
Prime example is the US Hockey Team (college amateurs) beating the Vastly Superior Russian (uber professionals) Hockey Team to Win the Gold Medal in the 1980 Olympics held in Lake Placid.
My point, which was clearly made, is that our team has suffered some rather significant injuries, and that these backups are needed and will be playing due to injured players. And that Kiffin is an outstanding coach and that I've never been more confidant in a coach's ability to motivate and extract exceptional performances from these backups.
And that yes, it is possible that they might perform even better than the players they replaced. Case in point is our receiver - Harris, who stepped up to replace injured Green, who I, and many others, would say outperformed even Green last weekend against Texas A&M.

It was'nt garbage time, when long ago a Mighty Kingdom and Very Wise, Powerful King's very lives were at stake! So the Wise King sent his Mighty, Massive Army & most feared, battle tested Generals, Captains out to face the giant threat. They all failed and were killed. And the end was certain and near.
Then to the King and his subjects great surprise.....a small, humble, full of faith, yet courageous boy named David appeared & he slewed Goliath!

Didn’t miss your point at all. Based off of your post, I just don’t think you are as smart as you want us to believe.
