Makes the tournament this year, and makes it past round 1, he should get a raise. IMO he has earned one just on this years play alone, but giving him one right now, before the season is completed is premature. If they shite the bed, miss the tournament, or get bounced in R1. Alleva is totally within his rights to not extend or give him a raise.

The PMAC is antiquated and there's nothing else that can be done to it. They could put suites in a new arena and make millions a year off of them. In the long run, this will have to be done. No time better than the present.

Well, the difference is Men's Basketball actually makes money. Men's Basketball is a real priority. Women's is not.

follow the ole miss/auburn model. build a quality smaller arena (9k attendance). will make the atmosphere sooo much better.

1. LSU will pay Wade. He is well compensated now and in the second year of a contract.
2. Anyone thinking that the PMAC will be replaced, likely ever, is a fool. It can certainly be upgraded, but there is no reason to replace it. It's a solid structure in a perfect part of campus. There has been a lot of money spent on it in recent years, including practice courts.
The PMAC was built in 1972, Rupp was built in 1976, Dean Dome (UNC) was built in 1986 and Cameron (Duke) was built in 1940.
These buildings are not disposable.

You realize that LSU doesn't have that kind of money and the TAF is tapped out?
A new arena is $100+ million dollar project at a minimum.
Everyone needs to calm down about Wade's salary. LSU will not lose him because of him compensation. If we lose him it will be due to an offer from an, elite, traditional basketball power that furthers his personal career goals (i.e. dream school).

I've heard this and have yet to understand why it needs to be smaller to have a better atmosphere.
