Been along time since LSU basketball was fun to watch again. Pay Da coach what he wants

Why would you say that? Of all the major sports, it's definitely one next due to be replaced/or majorly upgraded

There isn't going to be a new arena. Give him everything else he wants. There are ways they can make PMAC more intimate, intimidating & updated. Why doesn't Duke build a new arena? They play in an old little 9K seat bandbox & it hasn't hurt them. Other schools have older arenas too. It isn't all about the stadium. Winning takes care of everything.

It will be upgraded, but not replaced. It's already been upgraded with new practice facilities, offices, etc. There are other phases that need to be done. There is absolutely no reason to tear down the complete facility. There is nothing wrong with the structure.

Totally agree. Been to both several times.
I’d like to see a sport specific arena. PMAC is a multi-use arena which is a detriment to basketball.

I don't care if it's multi-use or not... But I'd think as far as cost effectiveness at this point it'd be easier and a better ROI to just start from scratch than to try to do a major overhaul of a nearly 50 year old building that is poorly designed.

Louisiana is a poor state and LSU doesn't even have the necessary funding to be a true flagship academically.
Regardless, there are lots of blue bloods who don't have new arenas. Florida recently renovated the O Dome and Florida has had much more success than LSU at hoops.

We don’t need a new arena. That’s just ridiculous. The PMAC is perfectly fine. Just do some renovations on it

The completed renovations and updates not too long ago. The cost to build another arena would be outrageous and in shape this state and its government is in, is not going to happen in our lifetime.

How about a list of these so-called PMAC upgrades that were promised? Lot of talk about promises made, but I haven't seen a breakdown.

The PMAC isn't going anywhere. It's an iconic building on the LSU campus. The building works fine for college basketball, and many historically strong teams play in much worse but it's their traditional home. When LSU is basketball is winning, the dome is loud and fun. I just don't get the hate for the PMAC.
If they built something new, odds are it would have other issues no different than the new alex box.
