Here's the good news...

With the whole Canada debacle, now Canada needs this game to boost his resume. Obviously there is a rift between Canada and O. I've heard Canada can be a bit of an A hole.
So maybe this puts Canada in check and if he/the offense perform well then he could keep his job with a bit more humilty this time around.
I'd be damn surprised to see Canada fired if they put up 30 or so on ND. O would look bad to fire the guy after hiring him a year ago.
Regardless. Calm down and let the wave run its course. LSU will be fine. (Hence the good news)

I love a-hole coaches. It's the kiss-arse incompetent fricks I cannot stand.

If LSU has already decided to fire Canada, the bowl outcome won’t keep him here.

Orgeron's the one that needs a dose of humility. Canada's the talent.

This!!! I am wanting to read about LSU’s game in two days. Instead I see so much whining about something that is only speculation at this point.
I am beginning to think LSU fans are more passionate about the coaching soap operas than the sport itself.

I'd have to agree. Way too much melting over unofficial reports. Can't I just enjoy our bowl game first??

Orgeron hired arguably one of the best OCs in the college game when he brought in Canada.
This fit Orgeron's hiring model like a glove: it was exactly what he said he would do and met the expectation of the fan base and admin.
More importantly, it honored the clearly stated terms under which he was hired by LSU to be HC of the Tigers.
The chances are slim to none that he would be able to repeat such a coup, so he would be well served by retaining Canada, albeit on a very short, tight leash.
A less than stellar hire would be an admission of Orgeron's inability to perform as promised, a clear failure to deliver relative to the terms of his contract.
Indeed, it would constitute a breach of faith, if not of contract, and his days would clearly be numbered.

Canada doesn’t need a damn thing. He has this to boost his resume. I year with Etling and 3/4 year really starting to install his offense:
Here is what Canada’s offense DID:
1. Danny Freaking Etling
- He’s one of just five to throw for 2,000 yards in consecutive seasons,
- one of 10 to crack 4,000 career yards and is second
- set the highest mark ever for an LSU QB In Int ratio and Number 2 all time in the conference.
- Number 12 in effenciency in the Nation.
- Number 5 in yards per completion in the Nation.
2. The offense turned the ball over only 8 times this entire season - tied for the best in the conference with Bama. Ironically, 4 of those was against Troy.
3. Thy averaged 28 pts a game.
4 Put up yards against Bama despite the loss and won all those games in the last 3/4 of the season when it was clear MC was calling the games.
It takes time to install this offense and we still didn’t see all of it.

"LSU fans are more passionate about the coaching soap operas than the sport itself"
a.k.a. self fulfilling prophecy
You are so right on. They are devoted to being right at all costs. A psychiatrist would have a ball with our fan base.

You really think Canada will be runni he offense against ND?
Posted on 12/30/17 at 1:15 pm to memphis tiger
If he isn’t running the offense for the nd game what was the point of keeping him?

It is a side effect of the playoff. The game it’s essentially a meaningless scrimmage. The coaching staff issues are more important than this game.

Yes, Canada will be running the offense in this game.

Speaking for myself I think most of us are tired of the incompetence in our University, from top to bottom.
Also with interference from the political side of things as well.
O is making friends with JBE it seems, to buy more time for himself down the road.

28 puts over 18 holes isn’t that bad.

Or maybe Canada is checked out and we look like shite on offense. Then we can fire him because he hurt O's feelings and can point to this performance to make everyone feel better.
