His problem was obviously mental, if he can get past it he can still be a very good option for us.

Even the last option can be good...

Ok guys, Let JL throw inception in his first series.... he will be BOO out of the stadium. He can hold for extra points. This way he can keep his finger in the game. It also gives some offensive play options. Pick any phase of the game and JJ has already proven he is better.

I hope he busts his arse, gets way better so that he can be a big time challenge for JJ. If JJ is the big time competitor most of us think he is, he WILL rise to meet and exceed the competition. Will only make the team stronger.

I've always liked Lee, despite his mistakes. He's a tough kid who can drop in a beauty when he is firing on all cylinders. I've seen him make some fabulous passes. If the kid is working on tape and getting a better knowledge of the game, this can only be good for LSU.

Thats the worst part of the Alabama game. 21 players played good enough to win that game. Lee was the only one who did not. He let his teammates down that Saturday.

Let me look again at the game on DVD. Is that JL dropping a sure TD pass that hits him right in the hands? Nope, looks like Chris Mitchell. So I guess JL did something to the ball to make it uncatchable even when it hits the reciever in the hands.

Read my posts. CM did drop the ball and should have been benched for that, but overall we played well enough to win. Time and time again, when the team was counting on Lee to make a big play, he made a big play for Bama instead.

Why. JJ has probably made just as much progress and it's not even a close challenge.

WOW, so much knowledge we already have on JJ after just 2 starts.

If we're really going to be switching to more of a spread-option, I don't see how JL can run it. I may be wrong though.

after a very tough day, in the 4th quarter when LSU was trailing 21-14, Lee went 4-5 for 58 yards leading the team to a tying touchdown.

Why? You really dont like what you have seen from JJ more than JL?

That means he'll have to become obviously better than JJ in that time. That would be great for LSU. I hope the competition makes them both better.

He goes to say JL's main problems from last yr stemmed from lack of film study, which is a main area that he is focusing on.

If that's the case, my question is why the hell wasn't he motivated to study film after his first abysmal performance?

I hear about how all this competition will improve Lee, as if not getting booed by over 90,000 people isn't motivation enough. But Competition can be a double-edge sword. Yes, logically it can spark improvement b/c you want to be better than the person you are competing against, or you can be demotivated by the competition and give up b/c you don't think you can ever be that good. Its all about your mindset. And the mindset of Lee is what's in question in this thread, not his physical capability of playing the QB position. So I have a feeling that Lee could very easily be intimidated by JJ's performance in the bowl game, and thus be demotivated to succeed b/c he won't have the confidence in himself to think he can be that good, which is crazy because he has shown he can make some awesome throws.

NOT a good sign if you're starting QB doesn't want to study film. That's where you see the mistakes and what you did wrong. He never got better as the season progressed, so that leads me to believe that he WASN'T spending much time looking at game films. He should have been watching tape day and night with Crowton........
