There is a LSU radio show on in the ALex area on mondays.

A guy calls in today and says they are having a underclassman qb/positon camp at LSU in the recent past, any way the caller is friends with the QB coach (I couldnt make out his name) apparently this guy is one of the top qb coaches around...

He says this coach tells him he has been working with JL since season ended, and JL has no and never had any intentions of leaving LSU and his only goal is to become better and win the qb job. He goes to say JL's main problems from last yr stemmed from lack of film study, which is a main area that he is focusing on.

Take it FWIW, dude sounded legit, he had a son participating in camp.

The other QB's arms are going to have to fall off for JL to start.
The Bama game was the terrible.. Even his mother was crying...

Well the film study sounds logical b/c JL couldn't read any defensive set on any down. This was evident that if you watched JL last year you would notice that he was pretty effective when he his primary receiver was open, but he struggled and almost paniced when he was forced to look at his second receiver, or God forbid his third receiver. So his arse better be learning how to read defenses and study film or he will be playing at some multi-directional school in 2010

Ignore the haters JL

I seriously don't understand why someone who claims to be an LSU fan would be that negative about the guy's future. His problem was obviously mental, if he can get past it he can still be a very good option for us.

I'm not saying I hope it, but if he takes back over, it would mean he improved very significantly. While I wouldn't bet on it happening, it is certainly not out of the realm of possibility. Regardless, the better JL is, the better LSU will be. Whether he starts or pushes JJ to get better as well.

I will say that for LSU to accomplish their goals of championships, we are going to have to rely on both of those guys to come up big throughout the season.

Thats the worst part of the Alabama game. 21 players played good enough to win that game. Lee was the only one who did not. He let his teammates down that Saturday.

I completely agree with this. I just dont see how before we see any games next season, anyone can say they want JL to start over JJ...

I agree with that.

I was laughing at the concept that "film study" was his "main problem".

LSU has a habit, however, of "head cases" leaving LSU as "head cases".

yea that was one of the best games the team played last year, too bad we had a mental case playing QB, what I don't understand was how he was able to bring us back against AU, then suck for most of the year...

Because we have some of the worst fans in the country. I can deal with them being assholes, but I can't stand them being stupid. And anyone who thinks they know how JL is destined to perform his next 3 years based on how he played as a freshman, is fricking stupid. He could wind up being one of the best QBs in LSU history, one of the worst, or anywhere in between. We don't know anything.

I don't think it matters. Some of them just have very low mental capacity. Thinking would only make it worse.
