in Ala Tiger's defense, just because he has a logo of a team by his name does not mean didley squat. too many blow hards here use all those different teams instead of the one they are SUPPOSEDLY a fan of which i think is silly but that is just me. use a team you are a fan of . ala tiger does but many do not so i can se tubucocos point. lol

The thing that bothers me is with comments like this...had the roles been reversed with stats and Bama won people like Herbstriet would be saying LSU outplayed Bama but Bama found a way to win and that is what great teams do...

And that's is what missing here...the slight they are giving LSU for doing what none of them thought they could do...go into Bama and win...

true, we've been very fortunate to win all these tight games this year. Miles' unfathomable luck continues

This. This. This. This.

Miles's dumb luck of not asking his field goal kicker to attempt kicks at his own 20 and not having someone whose not a QB throw a pass leading to an interception finally eeked out a victory in an obviously overcrowded with LSU fans BDS.

Found a way to win. Yeah. We scored more points, you Mid-western d-bag, just like we have all year. 11-0, 10 victories by double digits.

It's all good, I just hate when someone acts like a little bitch and insults you instead of handling things in a civilized manner, it's easy to be a dick than to act like a mannerful person.

First of all, how do you define "outplayed" if not by reference to the final score? If it's first downs, total offense, time of possession, or turnovers, you have a hard time separating the two. With Herbstreit, I'm pretty sure the translation of "Alabama outplayed LSU," is "I really would like to see a rematch."

Other then Alabama, what game was ever considered too close for comfort.

We didn't run Miss State out of the stadium. On the other hand, that game was much closer to being 30-3 than it was 14-14, just based on the way the teams played - we just couldn't score.

Herbstreit is an Idiot - Alabama Outplayed LSU All Game

I have no issues with someone saying Alabama "outplayed" LSU but LSU found a way to win. Alabama won the yardage and TOP battle and seemed like they had the ball all night. LSU did benefit from missed field goals but that is part of the game. Great teams take advantage of the mistakes of their counterpart.

-Who outplayed who in OT????? LSU made Alabama look like a PeeWee team in OT.
-And how close did Alabama get to the LSU end zone?
-Alabama did not get into LSU's Red Zone ONCE..
Not even ONCE.
-Alabama had 96 yards rushing all night.
-Alabama got HALF their total points courtesy of a Lee int. that gave them another FG opp.
-LSU had their chances TOOOOOOOOOO.
If Shepard doesn't fall down on his long reception, he walks into the end zone.
-If Claiborne cuts inside, he possible scores on his INT return.
-If LSU doesn't kill THEMSELVES with drive-killing penalties, we may have scored more, or at least, had more plays and time of possession - which it seems like was on the scoreboard instead of the 6 points they scored, and was the determining factor in the game.....

Alabama had IFs, but so did LSU.

Well I did, when you read a part of my statement and then assumed I agreed with the rest of Herbie. I was only talking about the Alabama game, not the season in general

this is LSU-UGA 2003 ALL OVER AGAIN

remember Trev Fagberts? "GEORGIA WAS THE BETTER TEAM THEN AND THEY ARE THE BETTER TEAM NOW"

LINK

GEORGIA IS THE BETTER TEAM? after we won a close one at home?

then we killed them in atlanta.

i still think it is tough as hell to beat a team twice. especially as good as bama is. law of averages.

Field goals are part of the "process" of winning. Someone should tell Nick

Those weren't field goals - they were prayers.

Saban knew his guy wasn't going to hit a 50+ yarder. I watched their kickers in other games and you could clearly see that they were a weakness. I saw them try a 40+ yarder that came up about a mile short in one game.

Only one of those field goals was even reasonable to attempt considering their kicker. LSU is a more complete team - that's why it's the best team right now.

And if Ford would have gotten a few more snaps, it wouldn't have been that close because they couldn't stop him. The overtime was a blowout and that was in their house. For anybody to say Bama outplayed LSU the entire game is just flat-out ignorant. The stats were very similar. They passed on us more - we out-rushed them and held them to under 100 rushing. That pretty much says it all when you hold them to under 100 with TRich on the team.

exactly, we have them in the Dome which is home away from home, I don't see LSU struggling like they did in Tuscaloser, Jefferson or Lee, whoever hits some throw for scores, the rout could be on.

I really wasn't calling you out.
I was just saying it's nearly impossible for me to agree to any part of Herbstreit's assertion when he basically intimates we got lucky the entire season.

I respect your playing devil's advocate in the rant.
