LSU is ranked #11. That's more than enough respect for now.

I think if we beat Auburn (or even if we lose to Auburn but equip ourselves similar to Washington in the loss) we will gain the respect we all want for this team. But we have to do it on the field.

Respect is earned, fellas.

"In the national discussion" to me is all of the teams that are in the top 10-15 that are solid teams that still have a chance to make some noise and upset the top 5 teams and cause chaos. IMO, at this point, LSU is one of those teams on the fringe that had a chance to upset teams like Bama and UGA on their schedule. If they lose next week, that will probably change. Win and the talk of LSU being a possible contendwe just gets louder.

Like I said, your parameters and mine are different as I only include teams that are discussed week in and out as playoff teams.

I'm not as impressed with Miami win as some because of their QB who has now sucked for 4 straight games and the Canes are 0-4 in those games. It was a great win right now but could change later in the season if the Canes don't find their groove again.

I've said for the past 10 years LSU is at worst a 9-10 win team. Anything less is unacceptable.

Pollack I think genuinely hates LSU

Herb I believe is just giving his honest opinion...pass% and 3rd% is legit reason for concern

Corso gave the best reason to "sell" schedule is brutal

Don't call it a comeback
We been here for years
We rocking our peers
Puttin' suckers in fear
Makin' the tears rain down like a monsoon
Listen to the bass go boom
Explosions, overpowerin'
Over the competition we towerin'
Wrecking shop when I write these lyrics
That'll make you call the cops
Don't you dare stare, you better move
Don't ever compare
Us to the rest that'll all get sliced and diced
Competition's payin' the price
LSU gonna knock you out

They didn't say anything wrong.

They said LSU isn't back to where LSU wants to be, but if LSU beats Auburn they were all in on LSU.

No reason to melt over that

Few people are melting about it. We are discussing it. That's what these forums are for.

I think this is the point the Gameday crew was making. Has Rosier really improved and LSU's just put the screws to him? Or, did he have a bad game and made LSU look like a great defense?

That's why people are taking a wait and see attitude towards claiming LSU is back to national prominence and IMO it's the correct approach. I was preaching not to overreact to one game either way all summer.

The biased gump media strikes again.

Are any of you honestly surprised?

Truthfully, in college football, it's what have you done for me lately except for a few teams like Bama, Clemson, etc. One game is just one game. But we know one thing - LSU is much better than Miami based on the game they played and 85-90% of the media picked Miami to win. They thought The U was "back", so their opinion isn't real significant at this point. One game doesn't tell the story anyway, so you have to earn your status over time.

Is this the 2018 version of "ESPN hates LSU"?

People use the term "melt" way too loosely around here.
