From A hog fan:

I enjoyed Sid's Story, and he was an inspiration to many. I was really hoping he could make it one more week. I would like to say our thoughts and prayers are with Sid's family.

Story on Sid Ortis

When he went home from the hospital, neighbors where he lived put out purple and gold balloons on their mailboxes for him to see on the road home

Yeah, it's pretty sad someone spent the time to down vote literally every post in this thread.

More pathetic than sad I think.

To the Ortis family:
May "the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."'

Fell asleep in my son's room while putting him down from trick or treating and read this when I woke up. Looking atat him sleeping, I don't know how any parent could remotely begin to recover from something like this. Prayers to that family, they're stronger than I am.

Prayers for Sid's family. I can't imagine losing someone as young as him. But what a brave boy, he was courageous and fought hard til the end. Heaven has a new angel, and he's in a better place now, with no pain or suffering

Many have lost loved ones due to cancer. We are saddened and feel the loss for a very long time. When I remember how those I have lost have enriched my life and had brought a smile to my face I am happy. I am happy that they have passed and that their pain is over. I will never remember them as they were in the end but how they were when they made me laugh or smile.
I believe than any person who had met SId, will fight that much harder to fulfill their own life by remember the strength he showed.

God rest your soul Sid.

I don't care if they win or lose next weekend. As long as they play to remember Sid and his love for them, that is all that matters. The coincidence of playing Alabama, in Alabama for an Alabama LSU fan who's heart lay in Baton Rouge, gives me hope that the LSU Tigers will remember SID the best way they know how. By being absolute "savages" on the field.
