We bought into the hype, and it sucks to lose. However, this is just the first game of the season. The first game with a new coach, staff, QB, etc. We were foolish to think everything would work right away.

LSU lost to a fairly talented team who managed to have good QB play and who played a warm-up game. It was a one-point game.

LSU has a lot to do to improve. It will take time. LSU simply isn't there yet.

UCLA 2022

We looked like a mediocre Sun Belt team last night running an offense from 1998

We are about to see how good our coaches really are.

FSU is more talented than UCLA. LSU got beat down by UCLA. It also wasn't Coach O's first game and wasn't a completely new staff.

More like how BAD they really are. Last night was just the start with not being prepared to start the game and NO halftime adjustments.
Right now it heavily leans to Money bags got LSU scammed again but this time for $100 Million not $20 Million.

I suppose but they're likely not a better team than UCLA

FSU has been pretty dogshit for a long time. They lost to a 1AA school last year

Irrelevant for the most part.

Modern college offenses can be installed in a matter of weeks. If BK/Denbrock want an overly complicated, conservative offense, then that's a huge fail (and is very worrisome moving forward)

I can agree with this…first 38 mins were horse crap…they looked to figure it out…defense had some big stops and offense moved the ball well with tempo

There is a definite disadvantage to going into your first game with a whole new team coach, new system, new players.
It was an ugly game with ugly mistakes that can all be fixed. If anybody thought you were going to see a fine tuned well oiled machine last night you were wishing for pie in the sky. This team as it is will not take any titles this year but if you can see definite improvement from week to week and some areas will take longer than others. No one is going to turn this into a championship team overnight. If that's what you were expecting you may as well spend this fall out on the golf course.

Yeah we were a disorganized mess for the first 3/4 of the game but offense and defense both started to get it together a bit and show some promise at the end. If they can keep that momentum going we can round into being a respectable team. Special teams was the wrong kind of special, though. Was my biggest worry going in. At least it looks like our punter can boot it, but the rest is about dumpster fire level.

I always kind of felt that this year was going to be a lipstick on a pig kind of season, I was just hoping the staff was going to be better cosmetologists than what we saw last night.

Of course there's overreaction. People were calling for Kelly's head in the 2nd quarter lol.

The concerning part to me were the mistakes and lack of discipline. Things we all thought were going to be the least of our worries with Kelly.

-Bad snap
-Dropped balls
-Targeting and personal fouls
-Everything special teams

If any of the above were better last night we probably win the game. I don't know if that's good or bad considering they seem to be correctable, but you hate to see winnable games lost because of dumb mistakes. That points directly at coaching.

Oh believe us, we’re not good.

Good for FSU getting a perceived big win but we’re clearly still a dumpster fire and still almost won

I believe there were enough positives from the game last night to think the team will greatly improve as the season goes on.

Denbrock sucks and is clearly not a fit for the talent we have.

Denbrock might be an ok OC if we had a line that could block and allow for slow development of plays. Instead we have stud wrs and tight ends but piss poor running backs and oline. We should be scheming for that and changing how we call games.

This should have been picked up from last year, from spring and fall practice. Instead we go out and look like les miles 2.0 with Denbrock. My fear with him was no way can we beat bama like
We need to with his style, instead it’s much worse.

We either should have went with Aranda or Lane as up and comers that are creative or Kelly had to make a better splash OC hire. He had a million years to make that hire and he botched it. Denbrock is who he is, his scheme doesn’t fit what we can do.

I never liked that phase that it is only the first game. Soon it's the second game, soon it's the third game. Soon the season is over and we are still waiting for improvement. Can't remember the last time I saw an extra point blocked. And they did such an exciting run to get there, and then blow it. Do we have any running backs this year???
