Jones can recruit. He has solid merits as a coach. Im just tired of the guy getting bashed to hell and back when he is a decent back up option which we may end up needing to hire him if some guys say no.

At this point I'd say he's got a better chance than many at success because he won't have to deal with the good ole boy LSU Bball Alumni undermining his every move.

I've never seen so many former players/coaches push for a guy this hard. This is all really bizarre to me.
I have. Arnsparger, Tommy Hodson, Wendell Davis, Nacho Albergamo, Ron Sancho.....et all..

The funny thing is, if Shanahan or Spurrier would have been hired in 1987, there would have been no Curly Hallman, thus no Dinardo, no Saban, no Miles. Who knows WTF would have happened.

Johnny Jones isn't a bad hire. Expecting to get someone from Pitt or Baylor is pretty much a pipe dream from where I'm standing.
