If true, Rettig needs to go ahead and transfer. Watching their highlights, seems like Rettig has a much stronger arm. In fact you're the only person I've ever seen say Jennings had a stronger arm.

In past years, I would be concerned about this. But with Cam here, I feel like we have the absolute best coach to get a young QB ready to play.

Can we see how Cam does with a young QB before we anoint him goat OC? Gary Crowton looked like a genius with a 5th year senior QB too. I'm cautiously optimistic at best.

You just compared Cameron to Crowton. If you want to overlook the number of QBs and offenses that Cam has developed over his career that's fine that's, but acting like this isn't the best QB developer we have ever had is plain ignorant.

hell he might be. i'm very interested to see what he can do and how mobile he is. i think we're definitely steering our offense toward that style. that said i don't think the QB needs to be randle el he just needs to be a threat with his legs.

unless brandon harris is a freak of nature he won't start as a true freshman.

In fairness to the knuckleheads calling for Rettig, they're probably the stereotypical fans calling for the backup, rather than racists.
There is no back-up at this point ignorant arse, Les has been clear that there will be an open competition for QB. At least you are not as bad as the ones screaming racism, they are incredibly stupid. I am all for whoever wins the QB competition.

Snake is a racist bc he thinks a white qb should start over a black one.

Guy's we had a great season this year with our schedule & the guy's we lost to the pro's. I can't wait for next year & the competition at QB. It is a good situation to be in.

Harris will be starting in 2015 regardless. No one on campus now possesses his combination of arm strength and speed.

i think rettig can give jennings a run for his money, certainly has a better arm, but i dont see either keeping harris off the field after 2014, not sayin it couldnt happen, just dont think it will. lets also hope les doesnt get to attached to one qb like he did jj. he shoulda just shitcanned the pro style and gone read option after getting shepherd if lee or jj werent good enough.

Jennings is better.
But it's good to be a tiger fan right now! Jennings and Rettig make Lee and Jefferson look like.. well.. Lee and Jefferson..
and Harris is gonna be pretty damn good too!

Jennings was more game ready as a true freshman. That doesn't really mean he's "better".

We're talking about two guys who have been in the system for one year. Jennings made one start, and Rettig redshirted. One of the reasons Rettig redshirted is because he needs to mature physically, btw. He wanted to redshirt.

There will be an open competition for the QB job. Anybody who says they know, right now, who the better QB is, is lying. You don't know.

I trust Cam. He knows qb's, and he will know which player gives us a better chance better to beat Wisconsin.

Here's to pulling for the LSU QB whatever his name, skill set or race might be. As a kid, whoever lined up behind center for LSU was my hero. As an adult, WHOEVER lines up behind center for LSU has my full support.

You took the bait. Its ok man, nobody thinks you're a racist. And lol @ comparing one guy's high school all star game performance a year ago to another guy's several quarters of play a year later. You do realize that Rettig might have learned a few things and progressed since then? I'm glad that we have the luxury of having a few good options at QB and an excellent coach to help them reach their potential.

He has tons of work to do on his footwork and his quickness . He has a big arm,he has a great mentor,he has a great opportunity. If the light goes on he could be the guy to run the exact same offense as last year. He was very highly thought of and an Elite 11 for a reason. May the best man win.
