I didn’t play college football. My brother in-law played linebacker for McNeese (2009-2012) and played in Tiger Stadium and recovered a fumble.

My oldest daughter (Tulane) played against LSU WBB 3 out of her 4 years. 1 in Baton Rouge. 2 in New Orleans.

Western Carolina - 2000 season. Was hot as Hades. We obviously got beat like a drum but it was a dream come true for a kid whose home games were lucky to be in front of 10k people.

That weekend started a 20+ year run of making trips to Tiger Stadium to be around that energy as much as possible!

Can't wait to be back again this year!

Not me but my cousin played both linebacker and punter for New Mexico St. After they got beat the same season by Texas 77-0, his coach told them in the locker room afterward “Texas ran over us but we are going down to Baton Rouge in a few weeks. They won’t just run over you. They will yank your dick off too. Get ready.”

My cousin set the record for most punts by the opponent punter versus LSU that night. Also he survived with all his stuff intact. Jim Hawthorne started saying during his broadcast “And here comes my friend ….. out to punt again.

I work with someone who played for Troy when they beat us. He always talks about how the LSU linemen were talking about going to Tigerland all game. Sounds like the culture was awful.

My brother-in-law, John Peel, did as a defensive end for Ole Miss. Played against Charles Alexander. Said tackling Alexander was like tackling a mountain. Here he is (over pursuing) and Charles running free.

John had 13 tackles. 2 for loss, but LSU romped.

Western Carolina - 2000 season.

You were the first team to face Nick Saban as the new LSU coach. Season opener 2000.

A dynamic true freshman RB got a late TD in that game. His name was Devery Henderson. This was before he was moved to WR due to the RB depth.

No, but played against the Tigers at the Box a couple times. Dream come true for a BR native, lifelong Tiger fan.

Very cool.
Believe this was Saban’s first game as HC. Also first game with newly constructed East side upper deck, suites, etc. Was young but remember the game vividly.
