I'm pretty sure Oklahoma didn't run the triple option with Josh Heupel as their QB in 2000. I could be wrong, but it would be a first.

Hatch cant move the ball. Why not only give up on this year but also throw in the towel next year because unless you think Hatch is the starter for next year 2 and has the ability to win us a national championship, then it makes no sense to not put the better player in who has completely outplayed Hatch. It is not like Hatch is putting up some crazy numbers.

I dont know how many times you have to be told, you can not win in the SEC with 0 passing ability. It just doesnt work. I guess we would not have beaten North Texas or App state if Lee started.

another question lsu1018 or LSUred, do you believe Hatch, with no concussion, could have beaten Auburn at Auburn when down like that. Honest question.

Honestly, Probably not against Auburn, but on another note, Lee hasn't played that good since that one half of football. Also, if you remember, Lee was a big reason why we were down. Hatch didn't throw that pick 6. So if you are asking me if Hatch could have made the comeback like Lee did in the second half my answer would be no. If you are asking me if Hatch would have played the whole game and Lee would not have seen the field, I think we still could win that game.

what's Heupel got to do with anything? He wasn't a running QB. He ran for 144 yards and passed for over 3300. Of course, he was a senior.

maybe we could have won with hatch, but it didn't work out that way did it? So until lee actually loses a game and it is his fault, he should and will start

I understand this, but he couldn't throw the ball pass 20 yards. Go read the article that I linked on the page back.

Not only was Hatch unable to throw the deep ball in the Auburn game, he also lacked accuracy on the intermediate passes. He'll be a servicable backup, but your starter needs to be a better overall passer than what he has shown.

Lee won't take us to the NC this year, but he will get better. He needs time to develop like every other QB. Give him some time. Anyone who thought we would be undefeated at this time before the season started was simply a delusional fan. One loss against Florida is not that bad for a young team. The score of that game was scary, but I think the score was the result of the team not handling adversity well. Last years veteran team wouldn't have thrown in the towel so early. Our team lacks leaders right now, but I think some will emerge with time.

We were down without that. That made it worse, but it wasn't as Hatch was fricking shite up and Lee blew it then saved our asses.

Actually he had a good completion % AT UF. The problem was his OLine sucked and we had no running game so UF was playing the pass all the way.

LSUred, please tell me the last time a qb who could not throw at all and only run won a national championship,or even a league championship. Trust me they dont exist, not in the SEC anyway

I would say Matt Flynn. Hatch's arm is not that much worse than Matt Flynn's arm. Also, Eric Crouch didn't do too bad at Nebraska.

Yea, Flynn and his 2.2 yards per carry says he can only run and not pass.

I guess you missed the Mississippi State game.

I mean, unless completing 66% of your passes, and 9.7 yards per attempt with 2 TDs and 1 INT is not that good.

LSURed24 and LSU1018 could be correct. Unless Lee can become Rohan Davey, LSU is going nowhere.
Lee can not move the chains 70% of the time, this means 3 and out. On the short pass over the middle on a crossing pattern, Lee throws behind the receiver. This killed us in the Florida game. In addition Lee is a statue passer. I hope he becomes Rohan, then LSU goes all the way; otherwise, play Hatch, he has not had a chance yet and he can become very good, passing and running.

DIDN'T MATT FLYNN NFL MATT FLYNN, DIDN'T I SEE HIM KISS THE CRYSTAL BALL LAST YEAR. i didn't say hatch was perfect i said lees mistakes , i hope our qb's both do great, SO GEAUX TIGERS GO TO HELL OLD MS. Lee completes over 59% of his passes.

You keep talking about how bad his accuracy is.

You cannot HONESTLY tell me you watched Hatch and think he can complete 60% of his passes. Most of his reps come against UNT and Appy St, and his completion% is at 53%, I believe.

Against SEC competition, I doubt it'll magically jump up above 60%.

i don't mind seeing hatch start the game.
first play being option or that little crossing to dickson, it would throw a wrinkle to the defense who most probably think lee starts and we run with scott

but saying that..

i don't mind lee starting either for obvious reasons.

point is it doesn't matter who starts just as long as we actually drive the ball down field. right now i'd take either starting the first series as long as we can get the ball moving.
