Has transfer portal been beneficial to any of the players that have left LSU?

It seems like jumping into the transfer portal is the cool thing to do these days, but it seems like it really hasn't worked out for most of the players that have tried.

I know I'm probably missing several, but the only two players that I can recall doing fairly well at their new school were the two that transferred to Arkansas - Dwight McGlothern and Landon Jackson.

Can anyone else think of other players that have benefited transferring out?

I know the news of Heard jumping in the portal is a tough one to swallow, but judging from the success of others before him, he may come to regret that decision and quickly realize there's no place like home!

Eli Ricks getting abused by Malik and BT last year was very beneficial to my LSU fandom.

Trey Quinn was good at SMU. Good enough to be drafted as Mr. Irrelevant and played in the NFL a few seasons.

You see how bad the Eagles defense is now that he is getting PT

Eli Ricks, Trey Palmer both play a lot of snaps on Sundays.

Landon Jackson was All SEC at Arky

Dwight McGlothern at times looked like a really really good CB this year

The big DT that went to Baylor got drafted.

Sometimes the grass is greener.

TJ Finley did well this year. Max Johnson got way more starts than he would have at LSU.

I think Ark did well with two former tigers: Landon Jackson and Dwight McGlothern. Could have used both this past year.

It depends on how many were nudged too pi leave vs those that left still wanted on the team.

Ika left to Baylor because of scheme for for example.

Mcglothern was told to bounce.

LSU has lost some good ones for sure but most big departures that were disciplinary or other issues haven’t planned out that great.

Seems the ones that moved to smaller schools have had some success. Lateral moves, not so much.

Well, Finley is at his third school and Max is heading to his third school so I don't know if you count that as being successful.

Eli Ricks went from a 1st round mock when he left LSU to undrafted. Him playing on Sundays doesn’t mean the grass was greener. He didn’t even start at Alabama
