Aren’t there analysts out there stating that LSU is suddenly a contender? Why on earth is it so laughable then to ask if him coming aboard changes the point spread? The general consensus seems to be that he’s a major upgrade.

Don't bet on LSU in the first game of the year. Just don't.

It will only change if the money coming in on LSU changes

If it hasn't jump on it. Last I saw I think LSU was favored. It will change, get your money now. I'd take the over on the 6.5 wins and the Miami game if I was a bettor.

Spreads move for all types of reasons. Setting aside the question of whether LSU will be better it’s Burrow, which would move the spread, if people “think” LSU will be better and bet on them the line moves whether they got better or not.

I think it likely that the spread will move in LSUs favor at some point with the addition of Burrow. Why shouldn’t it? Doesn’t he give LSU a better chance to win based on the relatively poor play of th either qbs at LSU compared to Burrows play in the Spring at OSU?

What analysts these?

Look if you want to be fired up as a fan that’s perfectly fine but point spreads don’t work that way. A single player doesn’t move the point spread that much, especially one who has never played.

If a bunch of money was bet on LSU then it would move, but the books won’t change the line because of a transfer QB, not this far out. The line was LSU -2 or 2.5 last I heard. I don’t know what you think it would change too

Bruce Marshall from the Gold Sheet is on weekly with Hanagriff and Ott and he doesn’t think the win total will change.

Point spreads absolutely change based off of one player, especially the QB position. As money comes in heavy on one side due to bettors confidence, the lines will adjust.

You are putting the cart before the horse. Point spreads move all the time even if there are no player changes. A star QB getting hurt, especially in the NFL can change a line, but adding a transfer to a college team will not make the odds makers move the line in and of itself. If big money comes in on LSU then line could move but not before

LSU has never been favored it has hovered anywhere from Miami -1 to Miami - 3 1/2.

Whatever you say. I know nothing. This was before Burrow.

5Dimes released its updated Week 1 College Football Lines on Friday and Miami has gone from a 1-point favorite against the Tigers to a 2.5-point underdog.

Mark Richt and the Hurricanes are no longer considered the betting favorite against LSU.

You will note that article is date April 6. Unless someone had a time machine no discussion of Joe Burrow had been mentioned

That fact that the line is that low is both laughable and depressing. It’s crazy how far Orgeron has sunk the program in one year.

Richt teams always have some summer and early fall impact player arrests that impact their early games.

It’s isnt. At all. You can bet ur sweet arse that it will change. Vegas will get the scoop once Burrow is worked in. If he’s slinging it like we expect, the spread will change.
