Got invited to Saints minicamp one year. I had been driving a beer truck before then. It worked out well for me.

For some reason I can never get Dale Brown's camp out of my memory, it was magical for some reason.

agreed. I went to LSU basketball camp for a few years (late 70s - early 80s). Was there with Johnny Jones and Derrick Taylor, probably different years, I can't recall.

Strange thing is I recall from camp is that Jones was a phenomenal player. Came home and told my dad that I'd just seen the next great LSU All-American, but when Jones got to LSU he couldn't shoot a lick and played out of control.

Taylor was very good, although (sorry about this) I got the best of him in a 3-on-3 game one year at camp. I even overheard some LSU players who were working the camp talking about it. Too bad that was the highlight of my playing days, but still, it was pretty cool.

I paid to go my freshman year of hs. Total culture shock coming out of a middle school league with 90% white boys. I remember watching Jamarcus russel throw balls to invited recruits that had so much heat on them I couldn't understand how the receivers could even see the ball. I could barely get off the line of scrimmage in 7 on 7 drills from being jammed so hard. Eventually began to say to myself "I don't think I belong here" lol. But it was fun competing against elite level guys and was a great experience. Tiger ball was the shite (2 hand touch games where u could forward lateral)
