Has anyone else here been invited to LSU football camp?

I'm drunk.
Excuse my biography below:
high school graduate of 2009 in Central Texas. Went on camp invites from summers of 07-08 to pretty much everywhere you can imagine that was appealing.
My grandfather is a LA native. Lived in DeRidder for forever, aside from his work in the military. I honestly don't think there was a time I'd seen him happier than when he dropped me off the first year and got to speak to Les randomly. He eventually got a hat signed by him that camp which I still cherish. That camp was the last time he ever saw me play the sport before he passed.
I didn't receive any scholarship offers out of high school aside from preferred walk on offers from several D1 schools.
I bring this up because I was talking w/ one of my good friends that I attended recruiting camps with tonight about it all and we spoke about was our time at LSU camp.
Will never forget all of the great food, great friendships, including one with an individual who was a top 5 recruit in Texas that I would have never met if it weren't for the camp and eventually getting moved from the outside field to the indoor after the first session.
LSU camp was a place where I quickly found out where I stood as a football player (this was under Les, so I can't speak on the conditions now, but I'd assume and hope it's even more competitive) and I think about it all the time about how it helped mold me into the person I am today. Competing alongside and doing drills alongside some of the guys I did was something I'll never forget (Janzen, Brandon Taylor.)
I've been a daily reader/commenter here for awhile and just wanted to say thank you to all of the LSU family. I didnt' go to the school there, but I will always be an LSU football fan because of my grandfather and family after him. This is the BEST family to be a part of in college football.

Well I ended up walking on at Baylor in 09. Tore my knee into shreds a season later. So I wouldn't really say that's a brag.

Well, did you get your undergrad degree in Molestation and Female Sex Abuse studies at Baylor??

Nope, only invites from Utah and TCU.

Missed that window in the locker room at least (I'm white and was in the secondary so it was a matter oftime if not an injury).
I defended the program at first, like an idiot, but frick them and anyone who is behind it.

How did you end up a huge soccer fan? Did you play that too?

became a soccer fan during the 06 world cup.
Played in high school sparingly. Program started my senior year so we couldn't technically play any 'competitive' matches. Was at a then 3A (what is now 4A) school in Texas

Went to Dinardo and Saban's camps. Saban's was much better run.

Nope. I really like Dodge Chargers so I went to bama camp.
They were all out of Chargers, so I quit football

Didn't get invited to camp but Sam Nader gave me the preferred walk on rap. I was like nah.
DiNardo declined to give me a scholarship at both Vandy and LSU.
I made out okay.

86, 87 hotttttt!
I was a thug and blew my opportunity but Coach LeSage from Belair HS was personally working me and working with LSU to get me a scholarship.
I thought I had better things to do....

What a great post. LSU is a family and their camps are special. For some reason I can never get Dale Brown's camp out of my memory, it was magical for some reason.
A super smart but non-athletic friend of mine still talks about Skip Bertman's camp.
OP touched on something I've never seen specifically discussed before.

Not a LSU football camp but I attended some for basketball.
It's a unique experience and nothing to be ashamed of for sure.
