Has any of our D-fences with Aranda been good against the run?

I can't remember 2016 that well but for the last couple of years we haven't got the push up the middle and havn't really been good against the run. He seems to do a lot with the Lbs, so we dont get gashed but we don't really stuff the run like alot of other sec schools. also have we ever had a pass rush with him? And yes statistically we havn't been that bad but watching the games against the best competition it has been a major weakness IMO. I personally would prefer someone from the saban tree with more of an aggressive personality.

It’s the style of defense aranda runs.

No, and it's a damn good thing we haven't faced any triple option teams.

Ehlinger just had a career high for passing yards and you're concerned about the run defense?

This is maybe the dumbest take of the year. We were #24 against the run in 2017, #13 against the run in 2016, and are currently #32 against the run, being the only team out there with a Top 10 win.

Go away.

I'm not usually into being the grammar police but this is extremely bad. . My main question here is why did you feel the need to take out the "E" in defense (which you still misspelled) and replace it with a dash?

again rushing statistics arn't really that reliable because sacks count against them. If you watched the game, we could not stop their run, they made about 5 yards every rush

yes it is important, why do you think he had such a field day throwing it, because we had to respect the run.

Then what would you take sacks off of? It’s not a passing play until a pass is thrown, ole baw.

I don't care about stats at all, I watch the games.

Leaving out Ehlinger’s stats, their RBs had a total of 61 rushing yards at 3.58 ypc.

If you include Duvernay’s one rush for 0 yards, that ypc goes down to 3.38.

Facts don’t seem to back up what you saw.

We had 5 sacks for a loss of 28 yards. Take those out (not sure why they shouldn't count) and they averaged 4.5 per carry. With a running quarterback. On the road. As a top 10 team.

Their non-Ehlinger backs averaged 3.4 per carry. Tell us who you want. Not just "a Saban disciple."

We never had the plug in the middle that Aranda wanted to really run his style of defense. Now we have 2 lets see how it goes. Its only game 2 guys let him make the adjustments. Once we get into SEC play we will see.

Some people here can’t feel smart unless they are complaining and finding fault. Of course, the rest of us can see this whole complaint/blame Aranda or the LSU D thread is pointless. I mean two different 4th down goal line stands for zip TX points in first half must stand for nothing in Bizarro fan world. And the rest of the D against the rush, including holding Sam E well below his rushing and passing norms wouldn’t count for anything either, right?

Given the strength of homestanding Texas, the big, big UT crowd, the HEAT, the holding not called versus Chaisson, and all the other stuff, I’m very happy with the whole package and the win.
