People need to realize that leagues in Europe are like conferences here. There is a major gap between the SWAC and SEC. It's not like "Oh, he'll play in Europe, he'll be fine." If he lands in the Adriatic, Romanian, Hungarian, Belgian, French, Czech, Latvian...he made a MASSIVE mistake

True. The conference analogy is a good one. It's obvious from every Blakeney thread that many posters here think every single player in the European professional leagues is making at least six figures. Heck, depending on league and stature, many players in Europe aren't making much more than meal money.

What's funny is that ignorant people like you think they understand how professional basketball works. Him getting drafted in second round vs undrafted hardly does anything except guarantee a spot on a summer league. Which he got anyways. He will probably end up over seas and make very good living. Maybe he makes it to NBA. Maybe he stays over seas. But him staying to be a second rounder is even more stupid when he needs money now

"Such BS. Get a job, any friggin job, and you can make it for a year"

Oh look. Another idiot. You have no clue either apparently. I'm not saying he made the right decision but you have no clue how little of time players have to themselves. Maybe during summer for month and half tops. Even while they are going to summer school. But during season and before season they are waking up sometimes at 5 to have individual practice then eat at caf then go to class then practice. Then prolly class again. It's a grind

'm not sure how going to summer league and getting paid a few thousand to barely pay or show anything will help he and his family. Have you seen that roster? He will be the 5th-6th guard at best. He won't play much

Def won't play much.
