I'll be the dummy that dares to talk about Schiano in this ignorant place. Schiano did well at Rutgers and then landed a NFL head coaching job. He also was the DC at Ohio State. Any idea how many people, he had to beat out for Urban Meyer to choose him for that job?
Tennesse couldve done way worse imo. Butch Jones comes to mind.
Ole Miss played pretty well this year and beat their ranked rival at the end of the year. With the goings on there and the sanctions the NCAA has put on them the program needs stability and quiet news more than anything else.
To bring in another coach and hope he could win big vs lose big is too risky at this point. Luke beating State makes this an easy enough sale until things quiet down.
So before the bashing occurs, pls tell us who you wouldve hired for both schools?

You are an idiot. How many “big” name coaches have the same record or worse
When will you admit you are wrong???? And you are wrong
I am a witness....

I probably would've done a little more in-depth background check on Schiano before signing anything, but that's just me.
What Currie just did is 100x worse than anything Alleva has done. And I fricking hate Alleva.

Ole Piss made the better move of the two programs.

The gator AD is doing nicely

We fired Les mid-season. Alleva had half a season to get ahead of other schools looking for a coach. We ended up promoting our defensive line coach that no one else wanted as a head coach.
Alleva is the worst AD in the country by far.

Any coach that is worth a damn won’t go anywhere near that disaster until the smoke clears from the NCAA investigation.
And even then it's Ole Miss. It's a has-been program that isn't easy to win at. Freeze's tenure was an anomaly, not a trend.

No way the Tennessee AD could be expected to anticipate a mob of morons and politicians (a category at least 3 rungs below moron on the subhuman classification scale) using 3rd degree hearsay unsupported by even a scintilla of hard evidence to derail the hire of the best realistic option available. Schiano is way better than any of the tools they've had since Fulmer (and maybe better than Fulmer, but that's never going to be a winning point in Orangeville).
Hell, Schiano would have been a great hire for LSU if he'd have brought in a 21st century OC.

Alleva has actually looked pretty competent this year. Weird to say it.
