I agree on the former, but Guice's pitiful fumble and then giving up on the play made sure that Fournette would have to play the whole game.
I have to go back and rewatch the fumble because I missed it (rotel run).
Darrel Williams should have definitely gotten a few snaps. I mean he would start on a lot of teams in the country. He is just overshadowed by Fournette and Guice.

Yes, if a 6'3" receiver with longs arms and a 38" vertical jumps as high as he can in order to get his fingers on the ball, he absolutely must make that catch!!

College db
That int before half was all on qb. Underthrown and db had both of his hands in it as well.

The people that think Dupre sucks are going overboard, but he undoubtably thinks he should have come down with a few of those passes. The reality is that he didn't make any of them. Individually they're all understandable, but over the course of a game you need a play or two like that to go your way.

We really have got to get away from this 2 wr running route stuff. Thats so damn easy to defend. Whats the point of all tightens staying in to block. Theres no options.

That DB didn't know what was happening. The ball was thrown 50+ yards and the safety was defending anything much deeper than that.
I didn't mention it in my original post, but why on God's green earth was this run off of play action? These PA looks on 7-step drops end up with incredibly far throws. A 5-step drop with no PA and you can get the ball to Dupre before the safety and give enough room to catch it in space and run.

quote:The pro Harris people on this board are as bad as the pro Miles posters, maybe worse. Malachi is "terrible"? The "entire team has no heart"?
-Malachi Dupre is absolutely terrible, soft and has shitty hands. His arse needs to be on the bench. A WR that cant catch and is scared is useless.
-Harris played decent
-Dural should get the bulk of the targets the rest of the season. He seems to be the only one that wants to and can play
-Our offensive lineman looked more lost than a peewee team the entire game.
-This entire team has no heart
-Our coach is a fricking idiot and is surrounded by yes men, which I would have thought would have changed with Orgeron and Aranda being on staff. Guess not.

That's a huge thing that we don't see him do. Chad Kelly threw an absolutely gorgeous TD in the first half against FSU where he threw on the inside of the LB before the WR even broke. Gives me a boner just thinking about it
This. The best qb's know the play and where the receivers will be. If a receiver is running a post or seam, and they see the back of the defenders helmet, let the ball go, the receiver will break and see it and the defender will never even know where the ball is.

Not from the college db who claims that just because the ball hits you in the hands you shouldn't necessary catch it.

None of those 4 are "drops".
Not sure what your point is.
Look, Dupre had a bad game. But the way you guys are piling on, with some saying he needs to be benched, is ridiculous.

This is where I stopped reading
This statistic counts the number of times an intended receiver touches the ball but fails to catch it.

#15 must have dropped 8 passes and allowed the first interception when the defender was not even looking at the ball somehow.

Don't get me wrong - these are bad throws - but we need things like this to wind up a catch every so often:
And I genuinely wonder what may have happened on this play. The ball is thrown before he breaks but Dupre doesn't really break like a post and isn't nearly flat enough for a dig route. Could have been a piss poor throw or a miscommunication of some type.

just looks like a lazy route to me
