do you think jennings won a fair qb competition?

honest question

Read it again. I didn't say the competition was ever over. But yes, I think the coaches believed Jennings gave us the best shot to win the first game leading up to the game.

I know, right? I hate that we never play our talented freshmen.

Oh, and which is the upperclassman?

I think everyone agrees that Harris is the better QB, but lets stop just making shite up.

no i didn't. i said i want him to start against Auburn and that he's the best option at QB at this point.

doesn't mean i think he should've started against Wisconsin....which is what this thread is about.

I think sending jennings out there after a fumble, a pick, and another pick just about killed his confidence off completely. it's the same way miles kept sending lee out there in 2008 after tossing 16 picks in 8 games he played in.

Good name you have there dude. But guess what Jennings will start and if he falters. Harris will come in. It's the smart move. Let Harris watch a couple of series to see for his self how much faster this game will be

isn't that admitting even just a little bit that miles made the wrong decision at QB?

See this is where people get caught up. The plan might and likely has always has been to work Harris in, just BC he showed up in some prevent defense against MSU where he could only look good and torching NMSU, doesn't mean that is the same kid you would have seen game 1. We won that game, and Jennings looked good up until MSU, so I just don't see how this was such a coaching blunder.

The smart move is to waste multiple series to start a game?

what da frick kind of logic is that?

they just want to find something to be pissed off at Miles about. thats why they're on here bitching after a 56 point win where Harris played lights out.

a real competition.

kind of a "gunfight at the OK Corral" type thing?

I don't think jennings earned the job. i think it was given to him because he had more time in the system and had one start in a bowl game under his belt.

It was given to him because the staff thought he could run the base offense effectively. Harris was not advancing as fast with respect to reads, adjustments, etc, the base offense. This is why he is running primarily "check with me". Miles doesn't want to run a "check with me" offense long-term. Unfortunately, the base offense hasn't been effective and he doesn't have much choice if he wants to win games. This isn't complicated stuff....

Very short leash though for AJ. If we get behind at all, make the change.

I fully expect AJ to start.....this is the Miles way.

i thought you were talking about NMSU. wtf does Harris starting against Auburn have anything to do with this thread? and what the hell does it have to do with what CptDumbass was accusing me of.

stop trying to find shite to be pissed off about.

jennings looked ok against wisconsin in the late part of the game, but he was pretty awful in the beginning. wasn't it was 24-3?

come on Choctaw, you know that freshmen are just as prepared on day 1 as they are after week 5...

A true freshman in his first start at one of the loudest stadiums plus a top 5 team isn't a formula for success. Let him watch awhile to see how Auburn is on D. Then bring him in.

This freshman played better than AJ in the spring game.

But AJs 1 year and 2 games more experience means he is a grizzled vet!

How upset are you that Miles was wrong and the Miles bashers were right?

Had Miles started Harris, and Harris had failed - Miles cannot develop QBs, Miles brought him in too soon

Had Miles started Harris on day one, when/where will AJ transfer? Miles cannot recruit depth at QB

People who hate Miles for reasons other than football (Saban, speaking pattern, Spears headphones etc) cannot be helped.

Dude, first off, try and respond to the answer that you asked me about. Second, it was 17-7 at half, they scored again early third, then we scored 21 straight to win. He started a little slow, but did what was asked of him, and finished very strong.

You don't even remember how the guy actually played. I think that says a lot concerning your objectivity in the situation.

Randall outplayed Mauck in a spring game, some say Jennings outplayed Mett in the spring game, Richard Murphy is in the spring game hall of fame...

This sums up most of the posts here recently, and about 95% of The Score Board. Truly sad.
