I'm also under the impression that we didn't try very hard to even get Jimbo to blink on leaving FSU.
So in the end, I'm pretty upset with the fact that Alleva fricked this entire situation after having all the time in the world to get his ducks in arrow and handle this like a professional.

nobody should've ever blamed O. he doesn't have the credentials for the job, but he didn't give himself the job and I think he'll do ok. 9-3/10-2 type seasons can be expected, but the point of firing Miles was that wasn't supposed to be acceptable.

I wouldnt be surprised if Orgeron does well as HC. That does not mean that this search was handled correctly. Alleva was weak and lazy and did not do any due dilligence. He took the path of least resistance as he always does.
Alleva has mastered Louisiana politics. Hire the Louisiana native sons and keep your job. It doesnt matter how poor the results are, the locals will make excuses for their own.

What makes it worse is that there are enough coaches out there with Louisiana/LSU connections for an established political machine to push for.

I think alleva took the "we are LSU " position with Jimbo. The truth is, FSU is a damn good job and one Jimbo has spent years building in his image. You had to deliver an out of the park offer instead of being a stubborn jackass. No one at the table believed alleva was seriously going to make O the guy....they under estimated what a stubborn idiot the man is
