The Miami of Ohio loss seems worse to me... just coming off of a huge blowout of a very good Texas A & M team and falling flat at home against a team they should have beaten by 40.

The Miami FLA game was a nightmare as well..

Miami came in to TS one year and hung a 44 - 3 route on us. The year was 1988. That was really bad.

No I think this loss to Miss State just superseded 1-9-12. This loss is definitely a loss that can snowball and manifest into a terrible season.

You really think dumb old Les is the "best coach in the history of the program"?

If you truly do, then you are off the charts unobservant.

Hannigriff

You are talking about a guy that if he was not on the radio spouting his mouth off could only probably get a job at George's Southside on a part time basis.

There is a reason Chris Blair has the Voice of the Tigers job and Hannigriff does not

FYI, Hannigriff wasn't picked because he can be too critical of LSU at times. He's a tell it like it is guy, not an asss kisser like Paul FineBaum and others.

I remember this as a kid. It was storming the whole game, correct?

Definitely Miss St, it wasn't just the score but how they overwhelmed an extremely talented LSU team. Only one other Tiger team that was extremely talented, loss bad to the no.1 team of the decade Alabama.

Im listening to the podcast and they deleted the first 15 minutes of the show. They talked a little to each other about calming down and apologizing. Is this how the show started with a rant on Coach O? Just curious as to what went on in this "watergate" type incident

missing minutes of tape, watergate moment?

Seriously, there's a ton of frustration every where even on sports radio. Not sure if Coach O realizes the pressure that's building.

Fixed it for ya. I don't ever listen to ESPN, but Hannigriff is actually one of the better ones around on radio.

If that was the worst loss you've ever seen, then you must not remember losing to UAB and Miami (OH). Both in TS, by the way.

well considering our AD gave us a used Pinto with a history of blown transmissions to drive through this season, forgive me for thinking out clutch just went out.

i mean at no point in the history of this car has anything even remotely resembling a reliable mode of transportation that you can keep for years happened.

let alone anything worth actually bragging about.

the only race this car has ever won was against a crippled kid on a bicycle with no chain.
and even then, he needed the crip to have a seizure down the homestretch.

Whatever you have..it is what you have...

let's push it if we have to, may just get it to the finish line.

I don't remember the weather conditions, all I know was our offense probably didn't cross the 50 the whole game. Their offense seemed like they were always in the red zone. Should have been worse, but Jimmy Johnson took pity on us if you can believe that.

Well there was a monsoon that occurred during 3rd Q I believe and was perfect with the beating Steve Walsh, Cleveland Gary and Co were administer! We were coming off winning SEC week before though!

People who bring up these losses aren't taking into account what the LSU program is now compared to then. Expectations are INSANELY different in 2017 compared to 1988 and 2000.

LSU is a top 5 brand ranked by Forbes as far as valuation goes in 2017. Losing by 30 points to unranked miss st when you were favored by a TD with such a large talent difference is what makes is such a bad loss.

LSU 2017 is full of draft picks. There is a ton of talent on this team. 3 straight top 10 recruiting classes in a row with blue chippers all acrosS the board.

That's what makes this game stand out. Also the elephant in the room is: is this a sign of what's to come or just an outlier?

Didn't LSU have a losing season the year prior? Expectations are different in 2017
