No ta question of OK or not. It is a question of whether that coach lived up to a promise he made to the big boys. Hate to break this to you, but life ain't always fair.
Are you seriously still trying to maintain that Les Miles was fired because of a promise he made to have a high powered passing attack, and not because he lost too many games?
If that's the case, why was he not fired after Wisconsin?
Why do you think those boosters wanted a better passing attack? Do you think maybe that they felt it was a means to get to more wins? Or do you think they would've been happy with fewer wins and a better passing game? You're off the rails right now brother.

quote:Depends on what OC he hired. If he hired one who was on top of the latest offenses AND could get his ballplayers to buy in to it 100%, then yeah, I think Miles would still be HC at LSU.
Pretending Les would be here is we spread the Ball out all over the place but still went 2-2 to start 2016 isn’t true.
Les hasn’t won a NC since 2007. He wasn’t competing with Bama anymore l.
You can’t do that no matter what your Offense looks like and expect to keep your job.
LSU certainly has the talent available, and the LSU D's have been elite for a long time.

would've still been fired if he were 4-0 with that same offense?
Terrible question. The offense was the reason he was 2-2
The defense played very well in those two games.

I dont. 2016 was his chance
We were a loaded team.
We were a championship contender and he basically ended that before October.
The fact is he wasn’t fired till after he lost to auburn and ended any chance at going on a run.
The offense looked like shite all 4 games.
If we pull out the Auburn win, who knows.

So what are you saying?
Is there any possibility that he could've won either of those two games with the same offense? Please think about what your answer and review the scores of the game before you answer.
I would just abort if I were you. You don't want to attach yourself to Buckeye's argument. Or do, I don't taking the both of you to school.

Did O promise to hire the best coordinators available?

We were 1 second away from being 3-1
If we pull off the win against Auburn is Les fires the next day? Even with that shitty offense?
I legit Could have seen Les pulling out a run at least the same record as O’s interim run.
We would have scored less points but we ran all over almost all the teams we played after Auburn (that we beat)

And we lost Wisconsin game by two points. But there was no possible way for us to win either of those games?

quote:Yes, he broke promises. And he lost too many games because his old-fashioned offense couldn't beat the elite teams consistently. He promised to revamp. He didn't

It's not a terrible question, it's exactly on point. Bucky thinks that had Miles gone undefeated in 2016 with a putrid offense that he would have been fired due to not living up to some alleged promise to unnamed boosters.
You are creating an argument where none exists outside of Bucky. Everyone, save for him, agrees that Miles was fired for losing games almost exclusively due to his ineffective offense, but that it wasn't the offensive performance per se that resulted in his firing, but the losses themselves.

We were a 19 yard 4th down conversion from being 11-2 last year.
It doesn't count. Most close games are held in the balance by a play or two. If Miles didn't screw up the clock management things may have been different.

You weren't even following the team until late last summer but somehow are privy to exclusive and behind-the-scenes goings on between the head coach and supposed high-powered boosters that took place more than a year prior?

Hypotheticals, how do they work?

Really the “why was Les fires” is a bit chicken and egg.
It’s like saying “the knife doesn’t kill you it’s the blood you lose that does”
The reason why people are pushing back is the implication that O is only expected to try and change the offense not actually do better than Les
End of the day a good offense a good defense only matters if they translate to Wins.
I am high on Brady, but I haven't Loved the trial and error method of fixing the offense.
And we need to recruit more DEs.

He was pretty close to beating 2/4 best defenses on the schedule.

quote:Right. These guys want a hair-trigger on firing O. I doubt they'll get it. But with a new AD, anything's possible.

I doubt he’d get fired if he went 10-3
But I dont Think he’d have much rope in 2020
