I usually agree with what Charles H. has to say, but I want to give him a big ole bear hug right now because I have never agreed more.

And what defenses are going to do is stack 8 in the box, make us get in an uncomfortable position of having the run taken away, and have Jefferson dinking and dunking low, high, in front of, and into the wrong person's hands all game long once the run is shut down.

Running the ball worked fine tonight, but I don't think we can do that against other teams. Other teams will just stack the box if we keep running the ball. We have to have some kind of balance.

I am all for a punishing ground game but you need a downfield passing attack ability to make it work against a good team.

I totally agree. And the first step in developing a downfield passing attack is creating a punishing ground game.

thank god jimbo left, did you see his team today? If Les took over playcalling in the second half...good for him, I wouldn't as a head coach let my OC screw around with fancy crap if all my team needed to do was line up and play smash mouth.

They ran very well in the 2nd half. If Miles was calling the plays in the second half, he is to be commended.

agreed...we need to see more of the two tight end sets. I hate the runs out of the shotgun...usually a wasted play

against vandy it should be easy. I don't like miles calling plays against stronger teams. If crowton can't cut it let gonzales call.

The only thing that really pissed me off was our decision to run the clock out with a minute left at the end of the first half..we had a first down, we could have tried to drive down and get a FG.

Good. Get Crowton out of there, hoist the black flag, run at the opponent until they quit, and get it right up them. We shall not be moved.

We did try...this offenses best chance at a big play is Russell Shepard. He touched the ball 3 times right before the half, and he wasn't able to break one. Did you really trust JJ to throw the ball downfield tonight in a hurry up situation?

I'm not going to bash Miles at all for the way the end of the first half was handled tonight.

If Miles is calling the plays then he should not be getting cute running JJ all the time. If you want to run the ball fine then use our backs. Play good defense and run the ball. Great philosophy. It works for Saban. Out physical your opponent, but stop running the option and stop running JJ. Let Shep run the option if you love that.
