Why would anyone be eating crow after one 10-2 season? Mike archer went 10-1-1 in his first season. He wrecked the program. I swear, we will go 10-2 next year, we will give orgeron a huge contract, then be stuck when he goes 6-6 with massive buyouts for him and his assistants. That is the stupidity of the situation.
That is why people are pissed. It's the obvious long term ramifications. He could hit the lottery, but the odds are not in our favor. It's not a smart hire.

I thrive on hate.
Im gonna keep pounding the table until i get my little" backoff" pm from the admins.
The shitty part of this all is that i actually like ed orgeron as a person and dline coach. He seem like a loud obnoxious cajun just like me.

The search was mishandled but may turn to be a good thing in spite of it all. That's my take until proven otherwise.

"Tom Herman will win a national championship at Texas within 4 years" - Matt Moscona
They hired a guy that studied under Meyer. They didn't hire Meyer. Moscona needs to quit.

I do t understand why so ma y people have anointed Herman the next great coach.
It's comical how so many people take what they read and hear and run with it without really knowing shite.
I'm glad we have CEO.
Jimbo would have been ok.
IDGAF about Tom Herman. Flava of the month.

Moscona has no credibility as a member of the media (I'm being generous by considering him one). He has an opinion and surrounds it with theater (almost said comedy theater, but if you've listened to his Friday shows, nothing could be further from comedy).
Sometimes opinions turn out to be right, sometimes wrong. Whether you agree with him or not, remember, you're agreeing or disagreeing with a bottom feeder of the media food chain.

This. Alleva is lazy and without fight. He never acts in the best interest of LSU or fans. He does what is easiest, expediant and cheapest. He takes his ball and goes home because Herman wants to listen to Texas instead of getting on a plane and going to Texas to sell LSU. Oh my God, to think he might have to actually go close a deal with a guy on the fence. Who would ever think that someone making a clear life decision might need to be face to face with a future employer. He is scared to death of competition and does not have enough belief in LSU or love for LSU to sell LSU. If he loved this school he would not make a hire like Johnny Jones because Dale Brown insisted on it. Or any other coach just because THEIR dream job is LSU. It's about talent and big picture. Compare our the head coaches at LSU for basketball and football to that of other schools like TCU. Alleva's search never extended beyond Fisher, Herman or Orgeron and it's flat out lazy, irresponsible and malpractice and he needs to be fired.

The same way people knew Saban was a great coach before he came o LSU.

I'm sure a bunch of agent contacts were made since Miles was fired to build an "A" and "B" list. Looks like their "A" list wasn't very deep with guys they thought would seriously entertain an offer. It also looks like they figured that making a continuity hire was less risky than a program reset with the "B" list.

I would prefer to believe we had two candidates in mind and settled on O when we couldn't get them. If we truly ran a national search beyond Herman and Jimbo and settled on O, that might be the most damning indictment of our athletic department yet.

I believe you are correct.
Thus, they're fricking idiots.
Hell. They had a guy on staff more qualified than the guy that have the job. And even THAT would've been a poor decision
