Tough to beat OU. Seems like they been winning the title since the 1970's.
OU won their first gymnastics national championship in 2014..... what in the hell are you talking about?

Great finish. Good job!!!

And the NCAA didn’t give out titles until the 1980s. Clearly some trolls on this thread.

Mckenna’s sister...is she as good as her sister? Glad we’ll have Mary Lou another 4 years.

357, how does LSU take that next step? Can the program find a way to consistently touch 198s? Is there anything we can copy from the UCLAs and the OUs in terms of designing routines and little changes here and there to nuanced stuff?
Excellent question. I think they need to take a nod toward diving, figure skating, and other olympic sports and factor in a degree of difficulty. Speaking as a non-expert/non-competitor.

LOL. 55 is in every gymnastics thread.
Pretty sure he was speaking metaphorically.

OU girl falls out of bounds and they get to drop the score and still come out ahead!! This will never make sense to me!! It should hurt their scoring not give them the lead!!

LSU has two elite all arounders coming in who are probably the best recruits LSU has gotten since Edney and Finnegan. They will help a lot. The sophomores need to grow this offseason and we have to overcome the injury hurdle. LSU will be very good next season but it might be some slight growing pains early with the freshmen and some kids transitioning into a different role.
One suggestion is for LSU to take out the difficult leap series on beam. The switch leap to the switch half is one of the most difficult leaps series to do. Do something easier. We need Dean and Durante to work on flexibility this offseason. Ferrer needs to work on her feet on bars, if she fixes that, she will move to a 9.9. Vaults is mental when it comes to sticking, they need to absorb landings more.
Not to try to scare people but Arkansas has reached out to Jay Clark for a HC position. Nothing official yet, but DD was planning to retire this summer or next summer. Her contract ends next season. LSU has arguably their best recruiting class ever lined up with the 2020 class who signs this November.

I hope the new AD keeps her around in some capacity and keep Jay as well.

We need to lock up Jay as the next coach when DD retires. His arrival marked the change in our program moving to the next level. We’ve always been good but he’s made us national contenders.

I have some very strong opinions on Jay, Clark Bob Moore and DD. All have their strengths and weaknesses. They are all very good coaches.
Some people are meant to be HC's, others are meant to be position coaches. The reality it comes down to surrounding yourself with people that fill your weaknesses and the ability to constant adjust.
I'll just leave it at that. And yes, LSU should do everything to keep Jay on staff for next year.

Absolutely. I’ve kinda figured Jay plays a bigger role already than most think. We have to keep him by any means.

Any idea what Sarah is doing post graduating? I’d love to keep her around in some form.

These were given out at yesterday's semifinals.
Sad, because Finnegan killed it today.

Sign Jay as the HC after next year and let DD have swan song in 2020
