I am usually pretty spot on when judging and have been around gymnastics for years. Gnat has some issues, she isn't a natural swinger. She misses handstands a lot, her swing has bad form, she bends her elbows and her toes are never pointed. It just looks really sloppy as what a bars routine is supposed to look like. Ruby isn't that clean but Gnat would just get hammered with harsh judging at this level.

I'm not trying to insult you but Ruby is getting hammered as well. Just thinking it could've been better.

But what do I know? Just a typical sore, loser; whiny bitch, idiot LSU fan here. Sigh

I never said that, I do agree Finnegan got robbed, that was deserving of a ten.

I just know what judges look for on bars, just overall form Gnat has been hammered all the time just in regular season competitions. Plus Gnat doesn't hit her dismounts consistently either. The one thing that bugs me with Ruby is she has never landed her dismount that much. I love the difficulty but its practically a .05-.1 deduction every time, you can't have that and get a 9.900 on these events

The same thing bugged me with Zamardi, is she really not capable of doing another dismount? We are literally giving away points

Yeah I'm not saying you did. Just using what others have said already. I'll take your word for it over anyone else's. If you think Ruby is better I'm with you dude.

I always knew OU would be too good to beat tonight, but last night made me a believer we could win. I'm very happy they were able to fight back for 2nd.

I hope the coaches really focus on bars for next year. We will never be able to pass OU when they have such beautiful bar routines when we consistently struggle to even stick a dismount on bars. In particular, hopefully they will work a new dismount for Ruby. I hoped they would do that with Shea, but they never did. I think she stuck 2 bar dismounts of her 3 years of competing bars.

I am worried about the freshman class coming in. We've been spoiled with the last two. I think we only have one commitment for the next class with Christina, but she's a risk to defer.

By the way, what did y'all think about DD essentially blaming the first few routines for the lack of momentum? I feel like she's always quick to do that, but is there anything else she could do to motivate the team herself? I feel they came out very tight and not relaxed at all unlike OU. They seemed very flat to me.

Well she's not wrong. It was very Mainieri-esque though.

I have many criticisms for DD, I know she hasnt won a national title, we have had iffy performances in years past in the post season but tonight I put on more the girls this time even though DD should get credit for whatever happens. I mean you couldn't have seen this coming. The lineup was perfect and we had the performance of our life yesterday. Zamardi and Ewing performed their worst floor routines in years back to back to open our hunt for a national title. These are two experienced seniors. That completely took away any type of momentum, we tumbled a little timidly.

It even went over onto vault, you need to realize. These girls know how dominant OU is, and just the complete disaster on one of our best events put us in the hole. I think we pressed a bit on vault, which never works out well.

I am in no way saying its Ewings and Zamardis fault for the whole thing, I just think that start completely sucked the life out of us at the get go, we could never get into any form of momentum because we were so caught up in catching up.

So yes, DD was actually quite right here. You can't have these starts and expect to win. We did a great job fighting on beam but OU was just too much tonight

As I sit here and reflect on this season, it is very easy for everyone to be a little hurt right now because we all wanted this national championship.

If you look at the accomplishments of this team you should be amazed. They have been bested on the competition floor twice this season by the same team, which that same team just won the national championship. By the way which they brsted yesterday in the semi final round.

They set a record high National Championship competition score, which was only bested by the team that won the National Championship this year in this very year. They also broke many other LSU records this year.

On the competition floor we have beaten Florida 4 times this season, and Alabama 4 times this season.
I know we all want to be critical and find out reasons why we didn't win tonight. However, I feel like we should celebrate the accomplishment of these young ladies period they are wonderful young ladies on the competition Floor in the classroom, and in the community.

Maybe, just maybe, instead of looking at the reasons went wrong, we can accept the fact that we were bested by an incredible performance by Oklahoma tonight.

Maybe we should celebrate our young ladies who give so much of themselves, work so hard in the gym, and represent LSU in the best way possible.

Maybe we should celebrate the senior class that didn't lose an SEC regular season dual meet.

Maybe we should celebrate the inaugural win of an SEC regular-season Championship as well as the SEC meet championship.

Maybe we should celebrate a team of young ladies on which nearly everyone is on the academic honor roll.

I guess what I'm really saying is it too often we focus on the negative.

Maybe we should just remember what wonderful young ladies they are, and the fact that they are LSU Tigers, and

ALL HEART!!!!!!

You are absolutely right. This season has been such a treat, and so fun to follow. These girls have accomplished so much! Matter of fact, at the beginning of the season I told myself I would truly be happy with them just winning a SEC title, because I know how hard it is too break through to win the national title. Well, they earned the regular season and then the competition one right out. Last night was so fun and so exciting. It was truly one of the best performances I've seen from any team ever. Not to mention, they did also win 3 individual national titles.

This senior class will be missed so much. They have achieved so much, and helped continue to grow this great sport.

Gymnastics Pumpers out in force tonight with every excuse imaginable for why we didn't win the NC, even though it appeared the stars were aligning for the team to do so.

They're a unique breed. (And annoying/irritating to competitive individuals that don't like excuses for failure) Doesn't matter the LSU Sport, they're ever present.

Nothing wrong with #2 in the nation, but we need to win one of these damn things. What's it going to take?

Have to identify the reasons the team is so tight, stiff and performs "Scared" while the eventual Champion is "Loose as a Goose" in the Finals!

Retweeted Scott Rabalais (@RabalaisAdv):

Oklahoma just knocked over their national championship banner and dropped the trophy.
Maybe its an omen for 2018.

As a very casual fan I told my wife early that OU was going up win. They were better than any team out there last night. I am proud of how our girls fought and finished a fantastic season. Our rough start hurt our chances but they didn't give up. Lots of respect to these tough girls. Gymnastics looks like a very tough sport to compete in at a high level
