OU was and is still UNDEFEATED this year so there is no pain in losing to them.

I knew it would take a score around 198 to win. just like LSU had a 198 plus to win the SEC. I think Bama had one of their lowest scores of the year at 196. Bama stunk it up for sure.

I completely agree about being happy winning the SEC title...it takes awhile to accomplish everything needed to break through and win the NCAA title...the first step is winning the SEC, then we build on that. And we will.

UNDEFEATED

really means nothing in gymnastics. you could not have a single win and be ranked number 1 in the nation (exaggeration, of course).

but yes, oklahoma is a very good team who got woken up by LSU going off Friday night.

And the bottom line is even LSU's Friday performance would not have beaten OU last night. They were that good.

Would have liked to have seen LSU start better yes...but showed some grit rallying for second.

Or the judges were a little more "alert".

Seems like a choke job. Was Les coaching these young ladies?

Just kidding. Nice season ladies. Proud to be a Tiger!

It was obvious, but as every true gymnastics fan on this board had said previously, LSU was not going to beat Oklahoma unless OU was off in some way, shape, or form and LSU had to be perfect. OU was lights out last night. For example, LSU had the meet of their lives on a National scale in the semifinals and STILL would have lost to Oklahoma's performance.

LSU went 36-2 this season with only losing to Oklahoma twice. Made it to the Super Six for the 2nd year in a row, and finished as National Runner-Up for the 2nd year in a row. It is disappointing because at the end of the day only one team will be truly satisfied, but these ladies had a damn great season.

I disagree, I wanted these ladies to win a NC and the pain is still real to them as it will be or has been to any LSU team that has come this close to winning a NC

Well duh, arsehole. But TD puts up stories about other sports and random slut bags. Gymnastics deserves more love on other LSU sites besides the school's.

Gymnastics Pumpers out in force tonight with every excuse imaginable for why we didn't win the NC, even though it appeared the stars were aligning for the team to do so.

They're a unique breed. (And annoying/irritating to competitive individuals that don't like excuses for failure) Doesn't matter the LSU Sport, they're ever present.

Nothing wrong with #2 in the nation, but we need to win one of these damn things. What's it going to take?

Have to identify the reasons the team is so tight, stiff and performs "Scared" while the eventual Champion is "Loose as a Goose" in the Finals!

A little harsh on the criticism, but I do agree that any good coach should examine what happened last night and see if there was anything that attributed to the slow start.

I have noticed throughout the year they generally have had the same rotation. Should they change that around so they don't get used to or comfortable starting at a certain place?

Should they work more on having to do their perfect routines during other teams chanting right in the middle of their routines? You don't have as much of this is dual meets.

I noticed last night that everything OU did in warm-ups focused on sticking landings. While LSU didn't seem as focused there and just kind of did a loose warm-up with not as much focus on sticking the landings.

Perhaps they need to do another meet in the middle of season where they have to get up 2 days in a row and perform so that their bodies and minds learn how to function as well on that quick a turnround.

I told my friend that LSU laid it all out there on Friday night and that it was going to be difficult for them to find that kind of energy and focus less than 24 hours later. Where it seemed OU was more relaxed on Friday and used their energy last night. Of course, LSU getting stuck in a tougher bracket was utter bullshite anyway, but there's that.

It was a great season. I love our team and our coaches and am soooo happy for them.

Getting over this hump is going to come down to recruiting. And by all accounts, the girls we have coming in next year are not the type of difference makers we have recruited the last couple of years. I can't imagine our new facility won't make a difference there in time.

With Priessman getting healthy, all LSU needed was one difference maker in this years class to come in (similar to Edny) to be right back there again. But unfortunately, that person isn't there... unless they can go out and find a rabbit in the hat.

Just asking for clarification since we are on Tiger Droppings and I did see something on the website last night, but whatever makes you feel better "arsehole".
