Not impressive post split resume. If you are a great offensive mind, a championship should be easy.

IDK how LeCompte's coaching would translate to the college game, but anybody that thinks he wasn't a great high school coach is an idiot.
The guy's made playoff runs with teams that had a fraction of the talent of most 5A schools. The guys only had what 2 D1 players his entire time at Mandy? The big LB a couple years ago and the QB that went to Tulane. Well 3 if you count the kicker.
We played Mandy a few years ago and they were filled with slow skinny white boys, but they were by far the most well coached team we played.

I've been explaining this to you through the practical application of economics. If you want a more academic discussion I can. Canada is moving down the demand curve for the reasons I posted about in this thread. Moving down the demand curve mean his equilibrium price is falling. Those fundamentals existed at the time of the settlement negotiations. Therefore, it is and was foolish to ever think he could take a reduced payout with the belief that he could make it up elsewhere.

He was fired, they just had some kind of dirt on him that could allow them to pay him SOME of his buyout. Stop trying to spin it.

What happened? Was there too much backlash about the hire?

Subtle brag you make 6 figures.

Here’s the thread where O haters that hated the hire now prop him up as the next Hugh Freeze.
Those of us not at the extremes are just thinking all of it should have been handled better. For example, more quietly. The optics are bad, all around.

Wut? If there was dirt, he'd have been fired for cause and been paid nothing.

Do you all actually pay attention to assistant coaches in college football? There are a ton of former high school coaches succeeding. Like the guy most of LSU fans wanted as the OC. Some of you all are so stupid.
He may prove to be a great coach, but there is a process here that usually takes place, unless you are desperate. O was desperate to get a player or two when he was at Ole Miss, and so he hired Freeze. Nutt was in the same boat at Arkansas and hired Malzahn to get the kids from Springfield.
While both Freeze and Malzahn proved to be good to great coaches in time, neither was ready for the role they were put in, and both of their head coaches ended up fired. My point is that there is normal path upward for HS coaches, and it doesn’t start at LSU. It starts at the FCS, Sun Belt, MAC, and maybe AAC level. Prove yourself there first, and then you’re ready to be on a P5 staff. There are very few HS coaches with the skins on the wall to warrant skipping this step.

And that’s the exact point that everyone is trying to get across to some of you dense people! Coaches that were underneath Lecompte at the high school ranks have already surpassed him and have on-field coaching positions in college. If he is so brilliant why are his understudies passing him up and getting college jobs while he spends his wheels in south La?

Turned down jobs because he wanted to coach his kid through high school.....great family man...
