If the time comes when we have to (and I think we all know it will) do any of us have a doubt who will be behind center? We should be using these games to prepare for those situations rather than getting JJ playing time because he's a senior and a good guy. JMO but we have plenty of guys that can run the ball but its quite obvious we have only one QB on this team that can utilize our vertical weapons at WR effectively.

Well said.

I think Miles does it for a number of reasons;
1. He wants JJ ready to go if Lee gets hurt.
2. Other teams have to spend practice time preparing for 2 QBs not 1.
3. The guys on the team that think JJ should play can't bitch (he hasn't played better than Lee in a game).

Can't they see, it's TEARING THE TEAM APART.

Oh, the humanity.

We're forcing it, and thus disrupting the flow of the offense.

We have to be able to force the run to beat a team like Alabama. Otherwise we're not much different than Arkansas. This is how we beat Alabama last year.

we have yet to see our offense HAVE to throw the ball in pressure situations late in a game to pick up first downs and keep the clock moving or go down and score to win a close game.

And Miles believes if we can run on demand, we can avoid having to throw the ball in pressure situations late in the game under most circumstances and keep the clock moving. The best way to keep the clock moving is to run the ball, not throw it. An incomplete pass stops the clock. A rush for zero yards keeps the clock moving. We have yet to complete every pass thrown as has most if not all of the major college QBs to allow the clock to keep running while passing.

Face it. On Saturday and on a consistent basis, JJ was the only runner who was productively spelling Spencer Ware who is getting worn down from having to carry the load by himself. I know I don't want him to become the next Lattimore on the shelf for the rest of the season. If the running backs ran with the heart of JJ on the edges and Ware in the middle, there would be no need for JJ to do it. Also, it places 2 runners on the field at the same time.

Purplehaze Guilbeau's take on QB situation LSU is 7-0. Looks like Miles might know somethng.

7-0 with Lee as Qb. Few coaches would frick with something that's working so well. It's the right thing to get JJ some significant playing time but it also carries some risks.

Time will tell...

I am just thankful that JJ played this year and now his eligibility will be exhausted.

Face the facts:

Rushing No Gain Loss Net TD Lg Avg
Michael Ford 5 35 0 35 0 13 7.0
Russell Shepard 2 19 0 19 0 10 9.5
Alfred Blue 4 17 0 17 0 8 4.2
Kenny Hilliard 1 13 0 13 0 13 13.0

Do you see any tackles for loss there? How about YPC?

Here's what the first half looked like before the running game was jump started.

1 Qtr 16, 0, 13, -3, 8, 3, 1, 0, 0
2 Qtr 1, 9, 2, -3, 2, 11, 2, 0

2nd Half

3 Qtr 10, 0, 6, 12, 6, -1, 0, 3, 1, 3, 11, 3, 13,
4 Qtr 18, 9, 14, 3, 12, -1, 3, 3, 10, 2, 5, 8, 12, 1, 2, 3

You tell me which half you would rather have. Les did not like the rushing statistics and made a change. By the way you also forgot:

JJ 14 73 5.2 1 TD

I also left off Ware, as you mentioned both JJ and him.

I'd rather have the QB who threw 3 TD's calling my plays and handing off to my best RB threat, #42, primarily out of the power I.

#42...lol. He is not the best RB option, but you are entitled to your opinion.
