When comparing CDA's salary and defensive rankings (especially last year's) to the same for quite a few others at the same position, he has underachieved a bit.

He has the horses to change that perception this year. No excuses.

it wasn't a hit piece, just an observation. the guy makes a lot of money.

last year, Arnada's worst, was explainable because of lack of depth and injuries., especially on the Dline. it doesn't look like that will be the case this year and I expect Aranda to produce some top statistics along with a stifling defense.

if we don't produce this year, then you will see some hit pieces.

It baffles me why people ascribe so much to Aranda. He is a very good defensive coordinator, but imo pretty much par for what we've gotten used to the last two decades.

He was outfoxed by Mullen last year, which cost us one of our three losses. And while our defensive talent wasn't great, it was very good.

Seems fair and accurate. I just wanted Aranda's great defense to stop the fAggies once in OT and he failed.

That newspaper recently got bought out.
Guilbeau may be looking for work pretty soon.

I just wanted our offense to pick up 4 yards in regulation to ice the game (and the lead that Aranda's defense had given us), but the offense which O had pledged to fix two years earlier was once again sub par.

This is the truth but many won't agree. Why? IDK because defense has been our strength since Saban with the exception of a few years.

I do think with a more aggressive front we will have one of our best defenses this year.

everyone did but that didn't happen. Having our defense on the field, up 7, Aranda as DC, less than 2 min and over 80 yards to go I liked our chances...didn't you?

Yeah the Florida loss had nothing do to with the mundane offense effort we put out there

It's almost like Mullen is really good at offense or something.

Like I said, Aranda gets held to an impossible standard here. With him, we talk about moments in the course of a couple of games where he's been less than good.

You do realize the defense was exhausted from carrying the offense all night AND we were down several key players on defense.

I don.t understand why almost everyone is defensive about Aranda. Guilbeau did not pick on Aranda, just said he might not be earning his huge salary.

So it didn’t have anything at all to do with the two turnovers in the red zone by Joe Burrow? Gotcha.... good eye for football you got there...

Aranda is doing great. It’s not his fault LSU had 4-3 personnel when he arrived, changed head coaches, and went through a shaky recruiting year due to program uncertainty. He’s done great with what he was given.

florida gained 4 yards after those 2 interceptions. They sealed a loss but don't act like the defense played well before that. Florida had 2 drives over 75 yds after our offense scored. They had 215 yds rushing. If you think DA and the defense had a good game then you definitely don't have a good eye for football.
