ooops nm.

After re reading it doesn't sound like he was digging at Cameron. More like he was just stating that all credit can't go to Cameron for Mett.

Is he lying about LF or the QBs? or both?

Randle El was the first-team All-America quarterback by the FWAA in 2001. He's on the ballot and will one day soon be a college football Hall of Famer.

Randle El college highlights: LINK

Also, think how many NFL QBs are busts. Cam was the OC for the first NFL snap of Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, and Joe Flacco. He can't develop a young college quarterback over the last decade if he's coaching in the NFL.

Antwaan Randle El was an incredible college player. One of the best I've ever seen. It remains to be seen if either Jennings or Harris come close to Randle El.
From a raw QB tools set, and potential as a QB, it goes Harris, Jennings, Randle El.

Yes he was a great QB, so was Flutie, that does not mean they had the best tools or the most talent. Not saying they were not great.

What I am saying is you cant say that our guys are not on the same level at this point, they are arguably better prepared for success. We aren't comparing Antwaan and his career to a career that hasn't happened yet, just potential.

Harris or Jennings out of HS have a leg up on Randle El out of HS. If you ask basically any coach in America, they would say the same, that is why Harris was highly recruited by LSU, Bama, UCLA, Texas AM, AU and Ohio St. Randle El went to Indiana.

If you make that argument, and because Randle El was a first-team All-America selection, are they failures if they don't have the same type of college careers?

If Randle El had played at Nebraska instead of Eric Crouch he would have won multiple Heismans. He was the leading Heisman vote getter in the Midwest region on a team that finished 5-6.

What Cam did with Zach was nothing short of outstanding, compared to his first season. Cam improved his pocket presence, footwork which helped his accuracy, his film study and preparation, etc. It was clear that coaching was the difference, and those techniques are setting Zach up for success in the pro's now.

Absolutely. GG is a douche fwiw.

To simply dismiss Cameron's role in Zach Mettenberger's great season by saying Mett was a 5th yr season, well, that's just retarded.

I agree with this. That being said, Mett did have a lot of experience coming into his senior year, and he had definitely turned the corner late in his junior year, the Alabama game comes to mind

Guilbeau might be a tool, but I am very concerned about the QB situation. All the reports sound like 2011 all over again. Crappy QB play will be an albatross once again.

Why does he want to call out the coach?

When did GG become this credible guy to listen too?

That's what pisses me off, every other coach in the country provides accurate stats, precise details and day to day updates on position battles during fall camp. Why can't Les give us the info we deserve!!!

No, not if they put the team in the title hunt.

I don't know why you are debating the productivity of ARE with me, I have openly indicated that he was a GREAT player.

Is it fair to say that our QBs are unproven. Less acclaimed, less accomplished, less athletic ....fricking YES.

Is it fair or accurate to say they don't have the talent of TOOLS as a QB...no. That is where GG interjects his stupidity. Will there accomplishments in four years match their ability, maybe.

We are talking talent, think Leaf and Manning. The best minds in football couldn't separate them easily.

Not to mention the likely rant that the coaching staff shouldn't have "run" the other QB's off to other universities.

Guilbeau really tells what he thinks unlike most other reporters who cover the Tigers who are actually an extension of LSU Sports Information.

Thing is, what he thinks changes with the wind. Just a couple weeks ago he was talking bout how good Harris was looking. I think it's more the case he tells us what he thinks will get our attention.

Miles inability to recruit a top QB looms to doom this season more than any other.

"doom"??? We went 13-1 with pretty average QB play and we went 11-2 with worse QB play in 2010. Doom might be just a tad over kill. imo

BTW, I thought both Jennings and Harris were pretty well respected HS QBs?

All we need is a QB that will not lose the game for us. He doesn't have to be Superman.
