Wasn't the point of the link. It was to show the national perception of the state of LSU football. There are plenty more if you want to read them.

the point of the article in the link was to point out some major flaw in the gameplan.

the point is patently wrong. the writer of the article is an idiot...I dont give a shite what a non football man, nor twenty non football men think.

There are a few things need working on, there is no indication they will not be worked on. We were perceived as the number 20 program in the country. That is about what we played like.

If folks would present reasonable objections and acknowledge the good with the bad, real debate would occur...instead we have this bullshite.

Glen Guilbeau is an idiot who, should he get fired from the Times, wouldn't get a decent job in a major market ever again. It's asinine the Editor allowed this kind of crap to actually mascaraed as journalism or even an Op Ed piece.

There were major flaws in the game plan, obviously. Any dolt can figure that out. It was a total second half meltdown, similar to the UT game in '05

like not kneeling on it and punting back with time on the clock.

Name a couple of the numerous errors and we will see if discussion is worthwile.

There are about two problems that were glaring from a coaching standpoint. I have only seen one mentioned.

The fumbles and the missed FG were the difference in a 40-20 victory, which would be an arse whipping, and what we saw.

But from a coaching standpoint what were the major flaws? Not the ones where competition occured, but the plays or calls that should never have happened.

No where close. The Tennessee loss is a result of the fatigue, stress and disruptions from Katrina.

Sounds like Glen Guilbeau actually wants LSU to do well. Otherwise, why be so critical of the LSU coaching staff?

Glen Guilbeau is on the same page as our ignorant president. When I see or hear their names mentioned, I tune completely out. Both are retards.

How about pulling the plug in the second half with a 20 point lead instead of putting them away in the 3rd quarter.

How about Shepard getting two touches in the second half.

How about continuing to let JJ take a 5-7 yard drop and try and read the defense and find the open guy, If you haven't noticed that ain't working real well.

If our RB's don't understand ball security who's fault is that??

Or, how about having a two year hole in your QB depth chart. Not once, but twice.

If your making 4 mil a year and you are the HEAD coach the way your team plays IS your responsibility. I guess we should just blame the players, those 20 yo kids who the head coach recruited and coaches every day.

GG is a second rate sports writer whose schtick is creating controversy and stirring people up. He did that in Mobile Alabama and got run out of town because of it. He isn't talented enough to be a good writer so he dwells on and revels in creating controversy. He writes outrageous things so that people will read his stuff and complain to his editor. He uses the complaints as evidence that he is increasing circulation and therefore should keep his job.
He is supposedly going to have a radio show in New Orleans sometimes soon. It will be interesting to see how he treats the Saints, Hornet, Tulane and LSU in that medium. My best bet is that he will end up being a third rate Condon.

So he isn't talented, but is the go to source for the entire state of Louisiana when it comes to LSU and will have a radio show soon. Yeah...that doesn't compute.

He doesn't sugarcoat things. His job is to sell papers. He does a great job of this.

Yes he does. His objectivity is non existant but he does rile up the lads. That works until he riles them up too much and he is sent packing like happened in Mobile, Alabama.

GG is actually complimentary of LSU quite a bit. He just doesn't care for Miles.

I have met him a few times. GG is a GG fan. And you are very correct, he doesn't like Miles. As a result he slants his stuf. Anyone reading his stuff should remember that is what is driving him.

Both were huge halftime leads that were squandered.

He also didn't like Saban when he was here.

An overheard plane conversation revealed how bad he hated the guy.

Katrina and Rita I suppose, but the effects of Ktrina were more severe and longer lasting.

Yeah, I'm familiar with Katrina having lived through it, thanks. But the Tennessee game was played on Monday night because of Rita.

Hooper: [trying to get the fishing line secure] It may be a marlin or a stingray... but it's definitely a game fish.
[Hooper pulls as the lines snaps and he crashes his head into the wall]
Quint: [picking up the line] Gamin' fish, eh? Marlin? Stingray? Bit through this piano wire? Don't you tell me my business again! You get back on the bridge...
Hooper: Quint, that doesn't prove a damn thing!
Quint: Well it proves one thing, Mr. Hooper. It proves that you wealthy college boys don't have the education enough to admit when you're wrong.

LSU had an opportunity to close out an opponent in the 3rd Q and make a statement after two lackluster seasons, but instead, due to questionable coaching decisions and multiple player miscues, had to pray for a win at the end. SOS in my book
You got it, bull's eye. I feel the exact same way.
