yeah. it really was not really a negative article. the headline makes it sound worse than the actual article.
he basically just said, jefferson has potential, but he is not going to carry the team. i don't think any rational person thinks any different.

I cant say I dont disagree with the statement.. But the article was HORRIBLE! What did he offer us as a reason? Because people have gotten hopes up before? WTF? Just because Lee sucked last year DOES NOT mean JJ will not be ready. Do you see someone in L.A. saying USC will not be ready at Quarterback citing the same reasons? Sure its a question mark but at least but some fricking effort in explaining that to us give us a reason based how what you have seen out of HIM not what you saw in Lee or some other fricking BS. BTW Ga Tech was a very good team so his comments on that made no sense either.

Yeah, I thought he was seeing something in practice like last year when he said balls were sailing all over. But, he just talked about inexperience and expectations. Pretty poor article - I agree.
But, the overall premise is something that I think most Tiger fans already knew - we are still inexperienced at QB and it could be a rocky year at that position. Still, things could go well. Lee could have done much better last year if he had made better decisions. He has talent. Jefferson seems to make better decisions. He won't be perfect, but he has talent and plays more within the game. That could be a good thing.

he's trying to get back on the Finebaum show...

But, what did he mean by this:
But in 2010, it could all change again. LSU could have its third new, underclassman starting quarterback in three years. That’s not healthy or stable.
probably a reference to Shep challenging for the spot...

Not a bad article at all. But for all of his level-headed wait and see facade, he isn't immune to dreaming big.

Football fans in this part of the country say crazy things this time of year because they just can’t wait for the season to start, and they just can’t help themselves when it comes to their team.

Obviously this. But other than a "chemistry" issue, if Shep is able to beat out both JJ and JL, I like our chances.

Guilbeau just likes attention...
and judging by the three pages of responses, he got it.
one way or another

All of the points GG makes in this article seem pretty obvious to me, but just because LSU has a question mark at QB does not mean that there is no answer to the question. Based primarily on a subjective/qualitative evaluation of JJ, along with some statistics, I personally think JJ is going to have a very good if not great year. Irrational? Maybe. But I think we've got a gamer in Jefferson.

I have no problem with this article. It sounds right on. The only place I'll disagree:
Just as there is little evidence that he will be awesome, there is little evidence that he won't. There just is simply little evidence period.

LSU can win with Jefferson, but, please, he is no JaMarcus Russell.

+1
he brings an excitement to the position.
I rewatched the south carolina game last night sober.
how in the world was hatch ever the starting QB at LSU?

wow... lee was just... off..
he had about 5 good passes the whole game, but easily confused by blitzes.
something JJ excelled at looking at the bowl game.

I don't necessarily disagree with him but surprise surprise GG authored a negative LSU article.
Uhh no it's not. It's reality. Why must some fans have the delusion that lollipops and gum drops is the only way to report what you actually said you agreed with?

I won't read the article because I vowed never to read dildeaux again. I find it funny that when Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, USCw, and Auburn start new QBs with less experience or worse performances than JJ they all are expected to great things. JJ is expected to fail because Lee threw 300 int last year? I just don't get this logic.
I expect JJ to be a playmaker not just a game manager. The kid has "it" he is calm and cool in the pocket and you can't teach that.

well since you won't read it, GG didn't write anything about those schools and their QB situations

Then why the hell are you posting in a thread about an article written by him. At least read it so you can be informed on the topic.

And hardly anyone else writes about it either.
I know there are questions at QB but every team has questions. It seems like this gets beat to death because of one bad season.

I don't have to read it to know what dildeaux says. He has wrote nothing but negative articles since Miles has been here. Very few have been positive. It's easy to get it right every once in a while when your always expecting failure!
