He catches a lot of shite on this site, but he had a helluva game today. That tackle on Hornsby where he was sealing the edge and being blocked at the same time and somehow tackled Hornsby while being blocked was great. He caused an errant throw on a blitz where he crushed Hornsby again. He mad multiple solo tackles around the line of scrimmage.

If Perkins doesn’t have one of the best defensive games in CFB history, we’d be talking more about Penn’s performance.

I told y’all he was close. He was getting criticized a lot during the last two weeks, but I had watched him and posted that his problems were mental and he was just a step too slow sealing the holes. If the game could slow down for him, just a bit, he would be very good. Well, we’re starting to see it.

While he's not fast, I like Penn. And yes he played very well at LB.

Penn, Tolan, and Perkins. Solid LB foundation.

Speed helps and I'm sure he might work on that after the season. I'm glad we have seen major growth in the LB room in general.

He was great, he made a couple of huge plays that were big in winning the game.

Was talking to two different people before the game and they were both bad mouthing Penn. I didn't correct them but I should have. Some people are just super critical.

Penn has his best game of the year but still has a lot of work to do. Hopefully it's starting to click. His lateral decision making was better than normal yesterday. However, immediately he can start hitting inside holes quicker and attack the ball carrier instead of waiting for the ball carrier.

I’ve been on him all season with how bad he’s played. But he did great yesterday and was glad to see it. Hope he keeps it going
