He would never be the physical corner that the Baker is and he was taken 30th.

Still not a bad pay day.
It's not bad. His decision to leave was a good one (as everyone knew).
I wish he wouldn't have quit on the team though.

tortoise and the hare my friend, he'll end up with maybe a third of that before, his leeches -er friends, family, col, and having to show that he's "living the NFL life" eats that right up, the kid needs to make his focus learning his craft, picking better advisers,
Admit it, we know zero about him, his family, his friends, or otherwise. Yet mist make a helluva a lot of assumptions.
We all know one of the biggest financial burden of our time is student debt that college grads can’t pay back.
1.5 fricking trillion dollars is owed by Students thst went to college. Poor financial habits are not limited to NFL players.

I’d love to be on the Browns they are building a playoff franchise.

It’s all cumulative.
Say a guy skips the bowl, teams want to talk to him and find out why and what makes him tick. They can’t.
But say he interviews and they don’t like his reasoning?
But it’s all part of his record and it all goes to his character.

after seeing what I described play out a few thousand times, they're safe assumptions, the overwhelming number of NFL "retirees' end up dead broke, or with little or nothing to show for, I hope he's one of the exceptions
I do know that he's from Allendale, so I assume he's not surrounded by the brightest and best, or most ethical

they have made some surprise moves, in a good way, it's usually the bone yard for players careers, hoping the best for our boys

Yeah it looks like the Browns may have finally turned the corner. I’m jumping on the bandwagon I’ll be rooting for them in the AFC

That’s a terrible deal after he pays his terrible agent, buys mom a house, and a new car.
In addition the $2.7 million dollar bonus he will still receive a putrid and measly $3.7 million dollars in salary the next four years. Yep, poor guy, hopefully he can scrape by. We are just so damn fortunate that we don't have to find a way to survive on just $925,000 per year not including the lousy bonus money.
How do you know he has a terrible agent? Do you even know his agent's name?

Well he’d pay about 3% to his agent and 41% in state and fed taxes
So about 1.5 million is what he’d have left

No one knows.
But either Greedy himself or his agent has messed this up.
Greedy should have been packaged better.

All of these young men should know better. The should hire an experienced agent and one who also provides a fee-for-service financial planner. Otherwise they lose on the front end and the back end.

everybody just looks at the gross amount, after taxes, paying his agent, etc., he'll get maybe a third of that each year, okay dough, but not life changing, or nearly enough to live out your years on, the boy left a shite ton of money on the table, not saying he shouldn't have left, but he was a complete dumbass the way he went about it

He will hit free agency 1 year earlier as a 2nd rounder. And by hitting FA earlier, it gives him a better chance to hit a 3rd contract if he is successful and healthy.

We aren't considered to be one of the top prospects at an NFL position that averages 10mil annual salary among its top 15 current NFL players.
Most of us also have some plan or long term career. We aren't completely clueless as to what our employment status will be in 4 years.
I'd rather take home 100k for 30 years with a 401k match and full benefits than taking home 900k for four years and then uncertainty.
It absolutely is a big deal that Greedy slipped for him... either way I'm sure he will do well and get a second contract

Word is he hired his buddy as his agent and it fricked him. He had zero interviews with teams. Zero teams asked to come see him workout, etc. Just terrible exposure, wonder if was the same guy Guice had?lol

Williams enters the pros with some limitations. He lacks instincts and awareness while not playing up to his timed speed. That was evident against Georgia and Alabama last year. He does not play well or have good feel in off-man coverage. He also is not a great fit as a zone corner. Thus, Williams is more of a second-round talent.
In speaking to team sources, numerous teams graded Williams in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. However, teams don't have 32 first-round graded players, so some second-round talents will get selected on the opening night of the draft. Williams is a favorite to be one of those players because he plays a premium position and has tools to work with. One general manager told WalterFootball.com that Williams is one of the most overrated players in the 2019 NFL Draft.

He went where he was generally expected (except for LSU fans)

He wasn’t drafted where this guy thought.
But none of this addresses the six or was it seven CBs taken before him.
Greedy was rated higher and thought to be a first day pick just as the article states.

LSU can’t protect athletes post graduation, etc.
They can welcome them home, and promote them; but that’s it.
