re: Greedy officially not playing in bowl game

It’s a shame that he has made that decision because fair or not, he has forever tarnished his legacy at LSU with a large majority of the fan base who will argue that he’s a selfish guy that has no respect for his coaches, teammates and fans. And if LSU manages to lose the game and /or gets bad corner play it will be open season on Greedy and everyone will throw their poo at him.
That’s the thing about personal decisions. Everybody gets to make them and everybody else gets to have an opinion about them.

I think he would play if it was a championship game, but what’s the difference? He is still risking injury in that game too.
The difference is he's risking injury to help his team win a championship vs risking injury in a game that means absolutely nothing to the program improving itself.

Oliver has been milking a minor injury and sitting out the last 5 games for Houston .
And you really don't see the difference sitting out regular season, scheduled games and an exhibition?

Leonard Fournette came to the Alabama game, was on the sideline, and took roughly a billion pictures with fans before the game

Leonard was legitimately injured.

I know a projected top 3 pick who went 34th after tearing his ACL in the 2016 Fiesta bowl...
Who then signed a contract that includes $4,523,682 guaranteed.
Dude was projected by many to be the #1 overall pick.
By the way, do you remember who even won the 2016 Fiesta Bowl?
Exactly.

Greedy needs to never brag about being an LSU player ever again or show his quiting arse again in Tiger Stadium. He can go play with his money and screw himself.

I know that. He still took criticism for not traveling with the team.
Then everyone forgot
Then everyone forgot

If you aren't in the playoffs the bowl is an exhibition. The only benefit from bowl games is the extra practices a team gets. I wish more of the guys who know they arnt going to be here next year would sit out. If the goal is to win a national championship might as well start the younger guys, get them some experience and start preparing to win a national title next year.

Yeah, good for him. Bad for LSU, bad for his teammates. bad for his coach. Bad for everyone. Except Greedy. Good for him.
By this same logic, how can anyone be okay with Juniors declaring for the draft in the first place??

I can't remember a time that I've been this embarrassed to be an LSU fan. You need to take a step back and relax.

Just when I thought the thread couldn't get any worse...

I can’t wait until Greedys first Sunday night football game
“Greedy Williams, DBU, LSU”

Is it a smart move to shite on high profile former players?
it isn't shitting on players. He declared for the draft and isn't playing in the bowl game. This means he has quit the team and is no longer a member. The team needs to be getting ready for the bowl and doesn't need none team members around distracting them. If he wants to train and work out he can get his agent to cut a check to traction sports and they can train him. I have seen numerous people on here say that Greedy doesn't owe LSU anything he is protecting his payday in the NFL draft, that is fine but it cuts both ways. Once he quit LSU doesn't owe him anything either and they need to take care of and protect their own.

Because he’s a selfish boy that’s giving up on his team. College football is about the team and this is going to set a turrible standard in college football. There will be more and I hope the NFL sees this as a weakness for all that do it. Being a good person is not always the easiest or safest, but most still do it. Why? Because it’s the right thing to do. Let’s not live because we might die! Fire away idiots, but it shows your character. If you’re not in the playoffs, we all sit out. Smh! Have some pride for yourself and your team!
Let me tells you what shows far more character - bashing this kid for a decision you'll never have the luxury to make.

I know. I doubt Greedy cares but frick it would disappointing to read this board if he did. You gave your best to a team and their fans for 3 years and this is the love they show.
I get people not being happy but the majority if this board is way to over the top.

Well that's an asinine decision for LSU to take sense they'll be pimping Greedy to recruits for the next decade.

People who go to games tend to like to get pictures with LSU legends like Leonard Fournette. And very few will actually try to make Greedy a villain, they’ll just criticize him and question his commitment to his teammates , coaches etc. which is their absolute right to do, right or wrong. There is nothing inherently wrong about questioning a guy who you feel is being a prima Donna if that is your style. People are entitled to their opinions.

IMO, no game is any different, he could have gotten hurt against aTm, oh shite, he should have set out of that game too. We can go on and on. Putting more emphasis on championship game over fiesta bowl is the reason why they have problems being consistent from game to game. Has any of bama's players sat out when they knew they were going pro and weren't in the championship game? I'll venture to say no, that's all part of the process Saban gets them to buy into that sets them apart.

I'm in no way happy he's not playing. I would love for him to play and to be able to watch him one more time. But, I understand that it's 100% the right decision for him and that it doesn't hurt LSU in the grand scheme of things. Him declaring for the NFL does, but not skipping the game.
